Welcome,
Friends.
Welcome to this meditation series as we delve into the power of the elements,
The very building blocks of the Earth and universe.
Each meditation in this little series will start the same way,
With a chance to relax and unwind before we visit our element.
So take this opportunity to make yourself comfortable.
Allow yourself to be supported by the Earth or surface beneath you.
When you feel relaxed in the body,
We can gently close the eyes,
Allowing the attention to settle on the rise and fall of the breath.
Allowing yourself the time and space with each breath to fill the lungs on the inhale and empty them on the exhale,
Connecting to that unhurried rhythm.
Drawing our attention inwards towards the breath,
We begin to let go of everything outside of this space with which we live.
We'll let go of the thoughts of work,
Of schedules,
Of deadlines.
We'll let go of the busyness of the day.
For this short time,
We can press pause on the world and spend some time within.
Allow the body,
The muscles,
The joints,
The bones to surrender into the Earth.
Allow them to settle and soften.
Envisaging perhaps that with each exhale,
As well as releasing the breath,
You are releasing any areas of tension or tightness,
Anything you're holding onto within the body or mind.
Just taking our time to come to calm,
To let go,
To settle and relax.
We'll let go of the thoughts of work,
Of schedules,
Of deadlines,
Of schedules,
Of deadlines.
Now from this place of calm and restfulness,
We will bring to the mind's eye the element of air.
The beautiful element of air can lift us up.
It can help us rise and fly like birds on the wind.
It can help inspire and ignite our imagination,
Letting sparks of inspiration fly.
And today when we think of this element of air,
A goddess is going to join us to help us on our journey.
Today we will channel and connect to the archetype of the great Greek goddess Nike,
The goddess of victory.
And she is often portrayed with great beautiful wings to help her rise and fly.
With her help,
We will envisage here in this restful place,
In our mind's eye,
That we too have great wings.
And these wings are made up of feathers that represent to us the things that help us rise.
Some feathers may represent family and friends.
Some feathers may represent the things that excite us,
New projects and adventures,
Travel,
Reading,
Food.
And the things that nourish us,
Books,
Learning,
Sharing time with friends,
Spending time in nature.
Allow yourself time here to envisage all the things that create your wings.
Let'sown There's a ourselves with this great beautiful patchwork of each color and element within our wings of friends,
Family,
Joy and love.
Here my darling you have the strength now to fly.
Perhaps you envisage yourself gently rising,
Floating on warm air like a floating seabird or taking a few great strong movements with your wings like a swan rising from a lake.
Rise up dear one,
Rise into air and sky and fly with the strength of your wings.
The ground beneath you seems smaller now as perhaps you fly over places you know,
Houses and buildings,
Beaches and hills.
Let your wings carry you.
They are made up of all the things that make you strong and that make you you.
Here up in the air the world is quiet.
We are far from noise,
Distraction and busy thoughts.
Here as we fly over this great beautiful earth beneath us we are at one with our own elements,
Our own strength and our own power.
Take your time to fly dear one.
Fly wherever you wish you have this power.
You you you you you you you and when the time comes,
When you feel ready you can use your beautiful wings to gently sail on the breeze down towards the earth,
Floating unhurried as As you gently descend and your feet once again touch the earth,
You feel joyful and connected to the elements and your own power here.
And as we reconnect to the earth we find that our wings gently disappear,
But even though we cannot see them,
Just like the air,
We trust and we know that they are always there.
So as the time comes to leave this meditation today,
Feel free to wiggle fingers and toes and take some nice deep breaths.
Whenever you feel ready,
You can gently open the eyes and I will wish you a beautiful rest of your day.
Thank you for joining me today.
