Your inner child is that little child that lives in your heart,
An expression of not only your child-like self but of all the life experiences you have had up to now.
Make sure your inner child is happy,
It can be a source of inner guidance and great strength when you need it the most.
When you were a child,
You may have had some bad moments,
Times when things were awful,
Times you would rather forget.
If,
Like a lot of us,
You have had those times,
You may have pushed all the pain and hurt deep down inside.
As a result,
Your inner child could be scared and alone.
Your inner child might be suffering and subconsciously telling you,
You are not enough.
Years of pain and neglect may be built up inside.
Not taking care of your inner child can manifest itself in your everyday life.
In order to be whole,
In order to bring more self-love into your life,
You need to make a shift.
You need to heal your inner child first.
If you have had bad experiences in your life as a child and as an adult you still beat yourself up about it,
You are still treating your inner child in the same negative way,
With criticism and anger.
When you feel fear,
It's really your inner child that is scared.
You are an adult now and you don't have to be in the same place you were as a child.
Treat yourself now as you wish you were treated as a child.
It can be different for you now,
You can do better.

Get into your favourite meditation position.
Close your eyes and let's take some nourishing breaths together.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Last time breathe in,
Breathe out.
Now keep the rhythm going and smile.
Imagine yourself on the beach,
Cool breeze blowing and palm trees swaying.
You're sitting under a tree relaxing.
You look in the distance and you see this little child wandering around.
You see the child sitting on the beach,
Cool breeze blowing and palm trees swaying.

You look in the distance and you see this little child wandering around,
Lost and alone,
Crying and hurt.
You ignore it at first,
But you feel uncomfortable.
How could you leave a helpless child alone and do nothing?
They must be lost.
You look around,
See no one there.
So get up,
Brush off the sand,
You go over and get closer and closer.
This beautiful figure of joy and happy and upset.
As you get closer,
You realise it is you.
Your inner child left abandoned and alone.
Instantly you let go of the guilt you felt for wanting to ignore them,
For nearly leaving them alone.
You kneel down,
You hold them,
Kiss them,
Clean up any wounds,
Tell them everything is okay.
When they have stopped crying,
You hold their hands,
Walk back to where you were sitting.
You let them sit on your lap,
Feel a well of love come up from inside.
Hug your inner child,
Tickle them,
Hear them laugh,
Laugh together while holding each other and smile.
Now you have your inner child with you and you're both playing games on the beach,
Skipping,
Laughing,
Having so much fun.
Add as much detail as you like,
The sights,
The sounds and the smells.
Let this happy scene soak in.
Now that you're having fun,
Let's say an affirmation together.
I let go of the past,
I am ready to heal.
Me and my inner child are happy and free.
I let go of the past,

Keep repeating this to yourself.
Just imagine your inner child,
Make them small,
Small enough to fit into your heart,
Place them there.
Tell them you'll be back soon,
To spend time with them and tell them they're loved and they are safe.
Now slowly bring your awareness back to the room and the sounds all around you.
Open your eyes and smile once more.
If thoughts come up for you,
Now would be the time to write them down in your journey.
Remember to repeat this day as many times as you need to get the full benefits and let the lessons really sink in.
Visit your inner child often,
Making sure they are safe and loved.
Now just imagine the fun you could have with this.
If you want more fun in your life,
You have to get in touch with your inner child.
Do some fun things either in person or visualise you and your inner child there.
Things like going to a fun fair,
Singing funny songs in the shower using a brush as a microphone,
Skipping in the park,
Giggling at something really funny,
Going on a swing at the play park,
Watching a funny comedy,
Chilling out with friends and going on a bike ride.
Whatever you choose,
Make it a regular practice to include fun in your life and the joy you feel will increase so much.
