Welcome to the Soothing Touch meditation.
Finding a comfortable position where you feel connected to your seat,
Where you feel connected to the floor,
Perhaps with your feet,
And taking three conscious fulfilling breaths and allowing yourself to let go of anything that's not here.
Beginning our Soothing Touch exploration,
Placing one hand over your heart,
Inviting you to place a hand over your heart.
And what does that offer you?
Letting go of any expectations or judgments.
Feeling into the hand over your heart.
And now exploring two hands over your heart.
Placing two hands over your heart.
And notice what that offers you.
And now moving to one hand on the belly.
One hand on the belly.
And notice what that offers you.
Placing two hands on the belly.
And noticing what that offers you.
And now moving to place one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly.
And notice what this offers you.
And now inviting you to gently stroke your arm.
Gently stroking your arm.
And notice what this is offering you.
And now gently stroking your chest,
Perhaps just in small circles or perhaps just back and forth.
Gently stroking your chest.
And noticing what this offers you.
Releasing now and placing one hand on your cheek.
One hand on your cheek.
And noticing what this offers you.
And now moving for both hands to be cradling your face.
Cradling your face with your hands.
And notice what this offers you.
Inviting you now to give yourself a hug.
A big hug.
And notice what this offers you.
Gently releasing and cupping your hands in your lap.
And what does this offer you.
One hand tenderly holding the other.
And noticing what this offers you.
And now giving yourself some time to freely explore where on your body a gentle touch is the most soothing.
Perhaps you'd like to go back to one of the parts of your body that you connected with.
And use these few moments to linger with this feeling for as long as you like.
Feeling into the body.
Anytime you need to feel safe and comforted or if you are just feeling overwhelmed or stressed,
Come back to your soothing touch practice and evoke the emotion of love and the feeling of safety.
