Welcome Mom.
This is a short practice for moments when life feels like too much and overwhelm rises.
Often it's younger parts of us that feel scared or unprepared,
And it can be hard to hold everything as an adult.
While deeper work supports full healing,
This brief practice can help you shift how you relate to your anxious,
Fearful,
Or overwhelmed parts in daily life.
Over time it can help you feel more grounded,
Less reactive,
And more confident as a mom.
So now,
Mama,
Take a posture of sitting,
Or you might choose to stand.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in to the lungs.
Hold at the top for a few seconds.
And exhale out your mouth through pursed lips almost like you're breathing out through a straw.
This helps lengthen the exhale.
So let's try that again.
Deep breath in hold 321 and slowly exhale out your mouth.
Let your shoulders soften Let your jaw loosen,
Let your belly release And let's do one last deep breath in.
Feeling the lungs expand,
Hold at the top.
3,
2,
1.
Slowly exhale out.
Notice your shoulders drop,
Your jaw soften,
And your belly relax.
Now let your breath return to its natural rhythm.
Feel your body supported beneath you.
Feel your breath arriving and leaving.
Steady.
Grounding.
Now turning your attention inside.
See if you can notice the part of you that feels overwhelmed.
The part carrying too much,
Trying to manage everything at once.
Turn towards this part now with softness.
Let it know you're here,
That it's not alone.
If it helps,
You might see this overwhelmed part as an image.
Or simply sense it in your body.
Notice where it lives,
Your chest,
Your throat,
Your belly.
Just noticing.
Nothing to fix here,
Nothing to force.
You might place your hand now on your heart or your chest area.
Or your belly.
Or both,
Wherever you feel emotional charge.
Let this part know it's not alone.
As you send your heart breath to this part,
You.
Self,
Are here with us,
Steady.
Loving.
Present.
If you like,
Or if it feels too much and you feel a bit too blended.
Might just gently ask this part for a little space.
Just enough for you to understand it better.
I didn't know you care about what it's been holding.
And on listening in to this part's worries,
Its concerns.
Not from within the storm,
But from the grounded observer in you.
As though you are the mountain,
Steady,
Rooted.
The part's thoughts,
Feelings,
And beliefs move like weather passing through.
Simply observe.
And listen with grace.
And compassion.
And once you've got some information from the part about what it's worried about or feeling overwhelmed about,
Let it know you get it.
Let it know you're listening and you understand.
You might even offer it some validation that makes sense that you feel this way.
Again,
Let it know it's not alone,
Because you're there with it.
Notice how the part responds to your presence,
To you offering validation.
Does it soften,
Even just a little?
Do you feel any small shifts in your body?
Loosening,
Warming.
A gentle exhale.
Taking another slow,
Gentle breath in… And as you exhale,
Let the part know all is well.
I hear you.
I care.
You don't have to do this all alone.
I'm here.
We are safe.
Let those words land inside.
As we close,
Feel your breath.
Steady.
Your body supported.
And your heart present and open.
You are not alone inside yourself.
Your self-energy is here.
You are supported.
You are guided.
And with every turning towards these parts,
You'll feel more capable.
Confidence.
Compassionate towards yourself.
And others.
And more connected.
With the truth of who you are.
