Hello and welcome to today's meditation.

As we approach the holiday season,

It's natural to feel a sense of nostalgia and longing for our loved ones who are no longer with us.

Christmas,

In particular,

Can evoke memories of joyful celebrations and cherished moments spent together.

And in this guided meditation,

We will acknowledge and honour these feelings of loss,

While also finding comfort and peace within ourselves.

So let's begin by finding a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lie down.

And close your eyes and take a deep breath in,

Allowing the air to fill your lungs.

And as you exhale,

Release any tension or stress that you may be holding on to.

So take a deep breath in and a slow exhale.

Take a deep breath in and a slow exhale.

One more time,

Take a deep breath in and a slow exhale.

Now I want you to imagine yourself in a cozy room adorned with Christmas decorations.

I want you to feel the warmth of the fireplace crackling nearby and the soft glow of twinkling lights.

Take a moment to immerse yourself in this beautiful and peaceful setting.

Notice the scent of pine and cinnamon in the air,

Bringing back memories of past holidays.

And as you sit in this room,

Memories of your loved ones may come to mind.

So allow these memories to surface,

Acknowledging the emotions that arise.

And just so you know,

It's okay to feel sadness,

Longing or even joy as you remember the moments that you shared with them during past holiday seasons.

You can picture their faces,

You can hear their laughter and you can feel their presence surrounding you.

Take another deep breath in and as you exhale,

Imagine a soft golden light surrounding you.

And this light represents love,

Comfort and the presence of your lost loved ones.

Feel the energy and love embracing you,

Offering you solace and support and allow yourself to be wrapped in their warm embrace,

Knowing that they are still with you in spirit.

Now bring to mind a specific memory or tradition that reminds you of your loved ones during Christmas.

It could be a favorite holiday receipt,

It could be a cherished ornament or a special tradition that you share together.

And I want you to hold this memory in your heart and allow it to fill you with warmth and gratitude.

I want you to feel the joy and love that radiated from these moments and let it wash over you like a wave of comfort.

And as you continue to breathe deeply,

Imagine sending love and gratitude back to your loved ones.

Visualize this love and gratitude as a gentle stream of light flowing from your heart to theirs.

Feel the connection between all of you growing stronger and be more vibrant.

Know that your love and appreciation are felt by them,

Wherever they may be.

And in this moment,

Let go of any sadness or grief that you may be carrying.

Instead,

Focus on the love and joy that your loved ones brought into your life.

Remember the laughter,

The shared stories and the warmth of their presence during the holiday season.

Know that they would want you to find happiness and peace even in their absence.

Now let's take a final deep breath in and as you exhale,

Slowly open your eyes.

I want you to carry the warmth and love and gratitude of this meditation with you throughout the holiday season,

Knowing that the connection with your lost loved ones remains strong.

And allow that memory to inspire you to create new traditions and make new memories,

Honoring their presence in your life.

Remember that it's natural to feel nostalgic during this time,

But also embrace the beauty and joy that can be found in creating new memories and honoring their presence of your loved ones,

Even in their absence.

May this meditation bring you comfort,

Peace and a renewed sense of love during the holiday season.

Take care of yourself and I'll see you next time.

Bye for now.

This was a nice and calming meditation for managing feelings of grief during a holiday. I appreciated the focus on connection with a lost loved one and I really liked the guidance to honor their presence even in their absence. My loss and grief is still fairly fresh, so I'm honestly not there yet for letting go of the sadness. But the emphasis of remembering the joy that they brought was very helpful and the visualization to connect our heart with their heart was a beautiful practice. Thank you. 🙏🏾
