So lying down now and making yourself comfortable,
Taking a deeper breath in and slowly letting it out as you close your eyes.
Letting go,
Allowing yourself to drift down into the bed.
Letting go of the day.
In this recording we're going to find a point of presence.
Point of presence is something that you notice within yourself that takes you deeper into the experience.
That helps dilute the mind.
That takes the mind into the body and helps you drift down into a deep and natural sleep.
For many people it can be the breath.
Shift your awareness now to the breath.
Noticing the movement of the stomach or the chest.
Noticing the natural flow of the breath.
In and out.
In and out.
At times you may notice sensations within the hands.
Perhaps,
As I mention it,
You notice sensations within your hands.
Perhaps a heaviness within the hands.
Perhaps noticing the temperature within your hands.
And perhaps a sense of energy within the hands.
A sensation of aliveness within the hands.
There are no rights or wrongs.
It's just what you notice and you only notice a point of presence when you notice it.
Do a little scan now from the top of your head down to your fingertips and down to your toes.
Noticing what you notice.
Allowing it to happen.
Look out for sensations of heaviness,
Temperature,
Energy.
Perhaps noticing where the bedclothes are connecting to your body.
Remember that you can always shift into a more comfortable position at any point.
What do you notice within your body?
Remember that if your mind wanders off into stories,
Thoughts,
Analysis or judgement.
Just notice that you've wandered off.
Take a step back and return to the breath.
Let your mind rest,
Not only in the breath,
But also in any point of presence.
As you start to notice more and more points of presence,
The mind quietens down.
The body starts to naturally relax.
Drifting deeper and closer to sleep.
Nothing to do,
Nowhere to go.
Perhaps just being aware of the totality of your body.
Sinking down into the bed and back to the breath now.
Allowing each gentle out-breath to take you deeper into the body.
To take you deeper down towards sleep.
And now letting go completely.
Allowing yourself to drift deeper and deeper asleep.
Deeper and deeper asleep.
Deep down asleep.
Letting go.
Letting go.
Letting go.
