So,
Taking some time to sit down,
Making yourself comfortable,
Feet on the floor,
Hands on your lap,
Taking a slightly deeper breath in and out and closing your eyes,
Allowing the eyes to close and noticing the weight of your feet on the floor,
The connection that your feet have with the floor,
Noticing the weight of your hands resting there on your lap,
The connection that your hands have with your lap,
Noticing the weight of your body in the chair,
The connection that your body has with the chair.
As the body slows down,
The muscles start to relax.
As the muscles relax,
They start to feel a little heavier.
This heaviness should therefore be accepted,
Gently encouraged,
Increased.
For as the muscles start to get heavier,
They continue relaxing.
So,
Notice and welcome that heaviness.
Imagine it increasing,
Expanding,
Deepening,
Your body sinking a little deeper down into the chair,
Becoming heavier and heavier.
And in this heaviness,
The body recharges,
Rebuilds,
Re-energizes.
Try this technique last thing at night as you're falling asleep.
And for the moment,
You can take a deeper breath in and out,
Have a gentle stretch and open your eyes,
Returning to the day.
