Taking some time now to sit down comfortably,
Feet on the floor,
Hands on your lap,
Taking a nice gentle deep breath in and out and closing the eyes,
Allowing the eyes to rest and relax as you now connect with the flow of your breath.
Many of us have intrusive thoughts,
An inner critic,
Sometimes it's a voice and sometimes it's a little movie,
Replaying something that we did,
Something that makes us feel uneasy.
It's time to take control of that little movie,
That inner criticism.
Perhaps you can bring one to mind at the moment,
Perhaps it's like watching a little movie screen.
Imagine you have a remote control in your hand and slowly and surely you can remove the colour from that little movie.
Imagine the colour draining until that movie is black and white.
Now what happens if you press another button and that movie goes out of focus?
Black and white and out of focus.
Let's take it one step further,
The next button on the remote control makes the picture smaller,
Do that now.
Black and white,
Out of focus and much smaller.
These simple techniques are giving instructions to your inner mind that that movie is no longer important.
And with some repetition you'll find that that movie,
That inner criticism gently melts away.
And bringing this wonderfully simple technique back with you,
You can have a gentle stretch,
A deeper breath in and out and opening your eyes,
Returning to the day.
