A restorative yoga Nidra - or nonsleep deep rest (NSDR) - practice to bring the body into a rested state where physical mechanisms of healing within the body are enhanced. It has been shown that both recovering from injuries and healing certain illnesses can be significantly increased when the body spends more time in a state of rest & digestion (parasympathetic nervous system activation, which happens in NSDR/yoga nidra) compared to when its in a stressed fight or flight state.
