Hello and welcome to this meditation,
Unconditional Love Explosion.
Unconditional love simply means loving someone or something else without conditions.
It's love in its purest and most natural form.
It can also be applied to ourselves in the form of unconditional self-love.
If we can learn to love ourselves unconditionally,
Then we are much better equipped to love others with the same lack of requirements.
Ram Dass is a master when it comes to love.
He used this simple yet effective analogy when explaining unconditional love.
When you go out into the woods and you look at trees,
You see all these different trees.
Some of them are bent and some of them are straight and some of them are evergreens and some of them are whatever.
You look at the tree and you allow it.
You see why it is the way it is.
You sort of understand that it didn't get enough light and so it turned out that way.
You don't get all emotional about it.
You just allow it.
You appreciate the tree.
The minute you get near humans,
You lose all that and you are constantly saying you are to this or I am to this.
That judging mind comes in and so I practice turning people into trees which means appreciating them just the way they are.
These words are great in helping us to love others without conditions.
I think it is such a peaceful way of being.
We can enjoy each other for who we are rather than what we expect ourselves and other people to be.
I believe to learn to give this level of love and respect to each other,
It helps if we can learn to give it to ourselves.
In the modern world,
The culture can be rather hostile,
Competitive,
Maybe disconnected and perhaps even inauthentic.
People can be quick to put each other down in an attempt to bring your self-esteem down to their level.
We don't have control over their words.
What we can control is our emotional reaction.
It's important not to fall into the trap of a victim mentality which can be sometimes difficult.
Someone who can truly and deeply love themselves cannot be influenced or downhearted by the put downs of others.
They have powerful,
Unbreakable spirit that realises that whilst the judgement may or may not be true,
We are all flawed and that is absolutely fine.
Growth is of course important to our wellbeing but without accepting and loving who we are right now,
Living fully in the present can be a struggle.
And as the saying goes,
You can't pour from an empty cup,
Take care of yourself first.
Before we move on to an exercise,
I'd like to finish with a quote from someone I admire for following his heart no matter what.
David Icke,
Someone I believe is one of the most misunderstood men of our time,
Said this about the power of the heart.
The heart has the most powerful electromagnetic field within the human energy field and there are more nerves going from the heart to the brain than going the other way.
The latter is indicative of sparkling truth that has been long forgotten.
The brain is not the focus for intelligence within the body,
The heart is.
Scientists from around the globe have supported these words that the heart is considerably the most powerful electromagnetic field in the body.
No wonder heart-led people have such magnetic personalities.
David is also quoted as saying,
Infinite love is the only truth,
Everything else is illusion.
Now let's do a practice to help us expand our hearts.
It is well known the heart chakra is their energy centre for love.
Firstly,
I'd like you all to take some deep breaths in and out of the nose,
Breathing right into the heart centre.
As you inhale,
Imagine a pure loving energy coming into the heart and as you exhale,
Allow any hateful energy in your body to leave.
Don't focus on any particular person at this point,
Just focus on the energy of love itself coming into the body.
Nice deep breaths,
Loving energy coming in and any hateful energy for ourselves or others just to leave the body.
Continue this for another minute.
If your mind wonders,
Bring your attention back to breathing in the loving energy.
See if you can feel it.
Now I would like you to put your hands on your heart,
Both of your hands.
To begin with,
I'd like you to focus on yourself.
Think about everything that you've been through to get to this point.
Accept yourself fully as you are.
This time with the breath,
As you inhale,
Imagine a bright green light in your heart centre.
As you exhale,
Imagine it travelling through your entire body,
Giving yourself unconditional love.
Nice deep breaths in,
Bright green glowing energy in your heart centre.
As you slowly exhale,
Imagine the energy travelling through your whole body and your whole being.
Continue with this exercise for another minute.
Excellent.
We can now offer this feeling to others.
Firstly,
Think of a friend or a partner that you love.
As you inhale,
Again imagine this green energy growing brighter and brighter with each inhale.
As you exhale,
Send that person that you're thinking about loving energy.
Keep your hands on your heart as you do this.
Try to picture the face of the person that you're sending this loving energy to as you do the exercise.
Again,
We'll do this for you.
As you exhale and send this person the loving energy,
Picture what their reaction might be like to receiving it.
Maybe a glowing smile.
Next I'd like you to picture a family member.
Inhale more of that infinite loving energy the universe provides us with and as you exhale,
Send them your love again.
Keep going with the exercise and again,
Remember to picture their reaction as they receive this love.
I'll now make it a bit more difficult.
Picture someone that you have fallen out with and no longer speak to.
Think about unresolved personal issues one or maybe both of you may have that could have caused the conflict.
Picture this person in your mind and send them loving energy.
Again,
Imagine their face as you do this.
Now imagine you give each other a hug.
And again,
As you inhale,
Still building this loving energy and as you exhale,
Sending it to this person that you've fallen out with.
If we can love our former foes,
This is great going and becoming unconditional love.
Stay with this person a little while longer and resolve the conflict in your mind.
We'll now send out love in a quick fire session to finish our practice.
Firstly,
To people within a mild radius of you right now.
Still with your hand and your heart,
Imagine sending them out all this great energy that you've built up and let them all have it.
Now push it out even further to the entire country that you're living in.
Imagine all their smiling faces when they receive this.
Push it out even further now.
Send it forth to the entire planet.
Send this love to all the animals on the earth.
Send this love to Mother Earth and all her diversity.
Send it upwards to the sun and the moon.
And finally,
Send this love across the entire universe to all the beings that may or may not be there.

Give love unconditionally and see if you get more back.
It's surprising how powerful even the smallest of gestures can be.
