Welcome to this Sufi prayer.
Sufism is the phenomena of mysticism within Islam,
Or the inward dimension of Islam,
Of which there are many great teachings,
Practices,
Prayers and teachers.
One of those teachers is the great Rumi,
Who many of you will have heard of.
He lived around 800 years ago,
But is still quoted today.
Before we begin our prayer today,
I thought it would be nice to recite some of Rumi's greatest quotes.
Anyone who listens to my meditations knows how much I love quotes.
Yesterday I was clever,
So I wanted to change the world.
Today I am wise,
So I am changing myself.
I love this quote and have resonated with it more and more as I have got older.
Next quote.
What you seek is seeking you.
It seems the law of attraction was understood long before the secret.
And the final Rumi quote I love is most fitting to the Sufi prayer I'd like to share today.
Stop acting so small,
You are the universe in a static motion.
Wonderful quotes.
I will now read the prayer.
It is simple,
Yet incredibly powerful.
It is an ancient prayer of self-love and inner power.
I love myself,
I honour myself,
I kneel to myself,
And I worship myself.
For I know God dwells within me,
As me.
So I now say it two more times,
Just one line at a time,
So you can repeat the words,
Either in your head or out loud with me.
I love myself,
I honour myself,
I kneel to myself,
And I worship myself.
For I know God dwells within me,
As me.
Do it one more time.
I love myself,
I honour myself,
I kneel to myself,
And I worship myself.
For I know God dwells within me,
As me.
I love this prayer so much,
I have printed it onto a canvas at home,
And will teach it to my daughter when she is old enough.
I hope you enjoyed it too.
Have a beautiful day.
Thank you.
