Begin this session in any position that is comfortable for you.
Settle in and softly allow your awareness to move into your neck and shoulders.
With no judgment,
Goal,
Agenda,
Or desire for anything different.
Just be with the experience of your neck and shoulders.
Just as we allow the sky to be blue because it's blue,
Allow all sensations in your neck and shoulders to just be what they are.
In this moment,
Just experience the body without criticism,
Without self-judgment,
Without feeling like anything needs to be different than what it is.
So,
Focus your soft awareness on your neck and shoulders and allow your awareness to move more deeply into the anatomy of these areas.
You can relate to your body as though you are the mind or the eyes watching the body.
Or you can relate to the body by being the body,
Which is how you should move your awareness now.
Be the experience of being the muscles in the back of your neck.
Softly move into the belly of the muscles.
Place all of your awareness,
Focus,
And concentration into these neck muscles.
Be their nerves.
Be the muscle fibers.
Be the blood supply to these muscles and extend your awareness down into the shoulders and also allow yourself to be the connections between the muscles and your spine,
Between the muscles and the bony structures.
Be all of the muscles in your neck and your shoulders from the deepest level possible.
As you soften how hard you focus and exist in the state of being these pieces of anatomy,
Allow your breath to softly flow directly into your anatomy,
Into the muscles of the neck and the shoulders.
And with every exhale,
Include the intention of release,
Of softening.
Experience the sensation of opening.
And as you return your awareness back into your breath,
Notice what you smell.
Notice what you hear.
And move your awareness from your neck and your shoulders back into your environment.
And notice if your neck and shoulders feel softer,
Freer,
More open,
And allow the sense of freedom to move through with you for the rest of your day and come back whenever you need to reconnect with your body.
