Today,

We greet the day with gratitude.

In our practice,

We are going to cultivate the sensation of gratitude and bring that forward for our day.

Within yourself,

Place your awareness inside your chest,

About halfway between the front and the back,

And just notice how it feels.

And as you sink into whatever sensation is there,

Think about one thing that is really really amazing in your life.

And as you think of this one thing,

Notice the sensation that happens within your chest.

Whatever is happening,

Experience it and allow it to change.

Allow your awareness to just curiously play with the sensation,

Giving it an opportunity to unfold however it needs to unfold to grow and expand.

When we allow ourselves to move backward,

Release control and not seek for something,

We give it space to unwind and expand and develop as it needs to develop.

And so with your thought about this one amazing thing,

It already comes with its own sensation.

And as we let the sensation grow,

Experience how it feels as you step back and allow for its expansion.

The experience of gratitude for an amazing thing in our life can echo from our chest and be circulated to the rest of our bodies.

So as you experience your own stepping back,

You are allowing this gratitude or just feeling of exhilaration for this amazing thing to grow and blossom and extend itself further out from your chest,

Into your abdomen,

Up into your shoulders and neck,

Out through your arms and your legs and your head,

And just allow your heart to move your gratitude into every cell,

Into every neuron and molecule and space within and around your body.

Play with the experience of gratitude in your pinky fingers,

With the experience of excitement in your little toes.

Play with the experience of soft exhilaration within your brain and feel this exhilaration sparking you to have a little bit more energy for starting your day.

Today,

We will set our intention to bring gratitude into at least one extra moment where we may normally feel a little low,

A little frustrated or a little sad.

These moments are teaching moments in our lives where we can choose one perception or a different one.

So open yourself with curiosity to see where in your day you can put a different spin on what you thought was something unpleasant.

So now move forward with your day,

Feeling the gratitude,

Excitement and exhilaration within you,

And come back tonight for a sleep meditation that can help you unwind and let go of some of the things that may not have been able to be converted into gratitude yet.
