Hello my friends and welcome to another guided meditation with me Jess.
Today our guided meditation is a focus of letting go by dropping the rocks.
We're going to take a nice guided meditation journey to unload some of the unnecessary weights that we carry with us.
So take a moment to find a position that feels supportive either seated or lying down and allow your eyes to gently close as you begin to bring your awareness inward.
Taking a nice deep breath in and slowly releasing the breath out.
Again breathing in deeply and exhaling with a sigh allowing your self to fully land in this moment.
Reminding yourself that there is nothing that you need to hold on to right now.
Nothing to carry,
Nothing to figure out.
Allowing yourself to just simply be here in the now.
Breathing in and out.
Now begin to gently bring your awareness into your body.
Noticing your shoulders,
Your back.
Noticing any of the subtle tensions or heaviness as if you've been carrying something for far too long.
As you notice this weight and pressure on your shoulders,
Imagine that you are holding a backpack filled with stones.
Each stone represents a worry,
An outdated belief,
A memory,
Or a role that you've been carrying maybe without even realizing it.
Pause for a moment and notice how heavy it feels.
How long have you been walking around with this weight?
How has holding on to this affected your ability to walk forward?
With your backpack full of stones begin to walk along a path in front of you.
The soft earth beneath your feet.
The sunlight filtering through the trees.
And on this path find a nice space to sit down to begin to unload some of this weight from your backpack.
Slowly taking off your backpack and setting it down near your feet.
Begin to feel that weight leave your body even if just for a moment.
One by one take the stones out as you hold each one,
Naming it silently,
Giving it space,
Energy,
And attention.
This is my self-doubt.
This is the weight of other people's expectations.
This is the story that I've told myself about not being enough.
This is my fear,
My shame,
My guilt.
Whatever comes up as a weight to release,
Let it rise,
Resisting the urge to judge.
Just gently place each stone on the ground beside you.
With every rock that you drop,
Notice your breath deepen,
Your body feeling lighter,
Your heart more open.
There is great power in letting go and there is tenderness in honoring what you've carried.
Looking at the pile of stones next to you,
Giving them space and energy for honor.
As you step away from the pile,
Feeling the lightness in your back,
In your chest,
And in your spirit,
You are no longer carrying what isn't yours.
Finding spaciousness,
Clarity,
And openness.
Find rest in this space,
Feeling the breath moving through your body with a greater sense of ease.
Notice the quiet,
The relief.
Silently affirming to yourself,
I release the weights of the past.
I allow ease.
I return to myself.
I invite you to bring your hands,
One to your heart and the other to your belly,
Feeling the warmth and vitality of your breath between your palms.
With each inhale,
Breathe in a sense of freedom.
With each exhale,
Affirm to yourself,
I am no longer holding on to what I don't need.
There is nothing wrong with having carried these stones with you,
But now you've made the conscious choice to put them down.
Let that choice settle into your body like soft sunlight as you breathe.
Taking a nice deep breath in,
Holding at the top for a moment,
And exhaling through your mouth.
Honoring the space that you've created in your own being for lightness,
For breath,
And for yourself.
Slowly begin to bring your attention and awareness simply back to your breath,
Allowing any images to slowly fade out of your mind's eye.
Simply refocusing on your in-breath and on your out-breath.
Slowly begin to bring your attention and awareness to your physical body,
Maybe by wiggling your fingers or toes.
And when you're ready,
You can bring your full awareness by opening your eyes.
Thank you so much for joining me for our guided meditation today,
A practice of letting go.
I hope that you have a beautiful rest of the day.
Until next time,
Namaste.
