I am very happy to be with you again tonight.
This evening I invite you to finally lay down a weight you may have been carrying for a very long time.
The wounds left by past loves.
Have you ever met someone new?
Promising.
Tender.
And felt despite yourself.
An old mistrust awakens.
And inner door close again.
As if an old hurt were standing guard in your place.
Heartbreaks.
Betrayals.
Abandonments leave their marks.
Without our wanting it.
They start to filter every new encounter.
To expect disappointment.
To protect themselves from a danger that no longer exists.
We think we are moving forward.
But we drag behind us a whole procession of old shadows.
And as long as we carry them,
There is little room left for a new love.
Yet these wounds ask only one thing.
To be finally laid down.
Gently.
Without being torn away.
We will not deny any part of your story.
We will simply thank it.
And let it drift away on the water.
Leaf after leaf.
Until your heart.
Lighten.
Becomes available again.
For what wants to be born.
For this release to fully bear fruit.
I invite you to listen to this meditation for 30 consecutive nights.
Thirty nights during which your unconscious will gradually learn to loosen its grip on the past.
And to reopen the future.
And if you fall asleep while listening.
That is perfect.
It is even a sign that everything is working.
You're unconscious.
For its part.
Continues to hear every word.
And carries on the work until morning.
Settle in for the night.
Let your whole body surrender to the surface that supports it.
And imagine that this bed is a gentle boat.
Cradle of soft wood that holds you and rocks you imperceptibly.
Feel your back fully supported.
Your head will cradle.
As if you were lying at the bottom of a moored boat.
Ready to let yourself be rocked by an invisible current.
Surrender your full weight.
You are held,
You cannot fall.
And when you feel yourself being rocked.
Let your eyelids gently lower.
As the shore fades when the boat pulls away.
Take a first slow breath.
And as you breathe out.
Let the weight of your head rest fully into its support.
A second breath.
And let your forehead soften.
Your eyelids grow heavier.
And your jaw slowly unclench.
Third breath.
And feel your throat loosen.
And your neck surrender completely to the support.
You have nothing left to carry tonight.
Nothing left to hold.
Let your awareness rest at the very top of your head.
Imagine a soothing coolness.
Like an evening breeze by the water.
Settling there and beginning to descend.
It travels across your forehead.
Your temples.
Your eyes that close a little more.
Then moves down along your neck into your shoulders.
Which gently open and loosen.
Coolness descends through your arms.
Your elbows.
Your wrists.
Down to the tips of your fingers.
Which grow numb and heavy in a pleasant way.
It reaches your chest.
Slows your heart.
It fills your belly which relaxes.
Spreads through your lower back and your pelvis.
Where every old tension begins to unravel.
The coolness continues down through your thighs.
Your calves.
To your ankles and the soles of your feet.
Your entire body now rests in this quiet coolness.
From the crown of your head to your toes.
Rocked by the imperceptible motion of your boat.
With each exhale.
You sink a little deeper into your support.
And with each inhale.
A peaceful calm fills you.
It is within this gentle rocking that the past can finally be laid down.
And this is where I'm going to take you.
Imagine that you are lying at the bottom of a light wooden boat.
Drifting slowly down a river in the heart of the night.
The current is gentle.
Regular.
Without the slightest ripple.
By itself without oars.
As if the river knew exactly where to lead you.
Above you.
The night sky passes slowly by.
And the banks glide on either side.
Dark and silent.
Lined with reeds and sleeping trees.
From time to time a firefly draws a streak of light above the water.
And the moon is reflected in a thousand broken shards on the moving surface.
The air smells of fresh water and damp earth.
You are perfectly safe in this boat.
It carries you.
It holds you.
And you have nothing to steer.
Only sound is that of the water sliding along the wood.
A regular and soothing murmur that rocks you more deeply with every moment.
Feel beneath your back the gentle swaying of the hull.
And the coolness of the water flowing just on the other side of the thin wooden wall.
So close and yet harmless.
A light mist floats here and there just above the river.
And the boat passes through it effortlessly.
As one passes through a dream.
Here and there.
The distant call of a night bird.
The brushing of a low branch.
Then once again the silence.
And the sliding of the water.
Let yourself drift with the flow.
Surrendered to the current that knows better than you where to take you.
And now notice that near you.
Lie several leaves.
Wide.
Dry leaves.
Each one carrying the memory of a wound in love.
An old sorrow.
A disappointment you are still dragging with you.
You do not need to name them all.
Simply feel their presence.
This slight weight that has been accompanying you for so long.
Now.
Take the first leaf.
Hold it for a moment in your hands.
Feel it's dry.
Light.
Fragile texture.
This leaf represents a pain you have carried with courage.
Sometimes for years.
Sometimes without even being aware of it.
Before letting it go,
Thank it.
Yes.
Thank it.
Because this wound has taught you something.
Has made you deeper.
More tender.
More able to recognize true love.
It has helped shape you into the sensitive and precious person you are tonight.
You do not have to hate it or run from it.
You simply have to set it free.
Gently.
Lean over the side of the boat.
And lay this leaf on the water.
Watch it move away on its own.
Turning slowly.
Farther and farther away.
Until it disappears into the night.
And feel in the place where it once rested within you.
A small space opens.
Lighter.
Freer.
Next leap.
Another sorrow.
Perhaps another face.
Acknowledge it.
Thank it for what it has shown you,
Then entrust it to the river.
Let it drift.
Glide over the dark water.
Turned softly in the wake of the boat.
And move away with it.
You are honoring your story.
And you are giving it back its freedom at the same time as your own.
One by one.
Take the leaves that remain.
And let them float away with the current.
At your own pace.
Without haste.
Some leaves are heavy and cost you a bit more to release.
Take your time with those.
And surrender them only when you are ready.
With each leaf you lay down.
Your boat grows lighter.
And you float a little higher on the current.
A little freer.
A little more yourself.
And notice how the river welcomes everything without ever holding on.
It receives each leaf.
Carries it for a while.
Then returns it to the night.
Effortlessly.
Without regret.
Just as it has always known how to do.
Let it teach you this tonight.
Nothing is lost by letting go of what was heavy.
You simply reclaim space for what is to come.
When the last leaf has vanished into the night.
Look around you.
Is empty now.
And you rest there alone.
Light.
Take a moment to take in what has just happened.
All that weight you had been carrying for so long is no longer there.
You did not fight it or deny it.
You simply thanked it and released it.
Your chest is unburdened.
Your heart breathes wide and open.
Cleared of everything that was cluttering it.
You are no longer the one who mistrusts.
Who protects himself.
Who expects disappointment.
You have become available again.
As on the very first day.
Continues to carry you downstream.
Toward what is coming.
Toward a meeting still unknown.
And you welcome it without fear.
Your heart wide open and free.
Let the river begin to fade.
The banks grow blurry.
The night sky melt into a soft darkness.
The lapping of the water become more and more distant.
Until it is nothing more than a feeling of rocking behind your eyelids.
You no longer need.
You keep only this new lightness.
This unburdened heart that floats.
The boundary of your skin gradually dissolves.
When you spread without fear into the gentle movement of the current.
You no longer really know where your body ends and where the water that carries you begins.
Something in you.
Long clenched around its old wounds.
Finally agrees to let go and to be carried.
Is holding you tonight.
You no longer have any leaf to hold.
Any weight to watch over.
Any past to protect.
Everything drifts softly away behind you.
Carried by the current.
And you feel no regret at seeing it go.
Only an immense.
Quiet relief.
Like after a long tear finally shed.
The rocking of the boat grows slower.
And all that once weighed you down now drifts far from you.
Out of reach.
Beyond your grasp.
You travel down into this current.
Level after level.
And each level is gentler than the last.
The river does not stop.
It becomes internal.
It now flows in the deepest part of you.
Dark and warm.
And it carries you effortlessly.
Everything becomes distant.
Without sharp edges.
Last leaves.
The last images.
Still drift for a while in the distance.
Then dissolve into the darkness of the water.
There is no more wait.
No more Riverbank.
No more direction.
Only a slow.
Blissful drifting.
And you now glide as a boat drifts.
On a river falling asleep.
As a leaf drifts away.
Carried by the current of the night.
Toward the deepest and most restorative sleep of your life.
And if you are not asleep yet.
I invite you to let the following affirmations carry you into sleep.
Your unconscious will then take over.
I let go of the wounds of past loves.
My story.
And I give it back its freedom.
My heart frees itself from everything that was cluttering it.
I no longer need to protect myself from a danger that no longer exists.
Each sorrow I lay down lightens my heart a little more.
I am available to love again.
The past drifts away.
And the future opens before me.
I forgive those who hurt me.
And I set myself free.
I forgive myself for my past mistakes.
My wounds have made me deeper and more tender.
I release mistrust.
And I reopen to trust.
My heart breathes wine.
I no longer drag the weight of lost loves.
Let the current carry away what is no longer mine.
I allow myself to love again.
Without fear.
I lay down a little more of my past.
New love finally finds space within me.
I honor what I have lived.
And I keep moving forward.
I am not my old wounds.
My heart knows how to heal and reopen after each sorrow.
I let myself be carried toward what wants to be born.
