Welcome to this autumn themed meditation as we journey together into the woodland taking insights and wisdom from nature around us in how to let go,
Release and strengthen the most important relationship that we have,
The one that we have with ourselves.
Please take a moment to ground yourself in your body feeling your roots connected to the earth beneath you.
Relax your shoulders soften your jaw,
Taking a breath to center yourself,
A deep inhale and a slow exhale.
If you feel comfortable to close your eyes please do so or just soften your gaze.
I invite you to bring to mind an autumn woodland scene.
This can be somewhere you have visited yourself or one that you create in your mind.
Imagine stepping into this scene,
Awakening your senses,
Noticing what you see,
Hear,
Feel even the scent of autumn in the air.
Autumn seems to arrive like a whisper,
A gentle unfolding of color as the warmth of the summer sun fades and darkness hovers on the cusp of night.
Autumn light still breaks through the clouds.
Imagine looking up to the sky seeing those flashes of light breaking through the branches through the leaves that are changing color to gold,
Crimson,
Brown.
Imagine stepping forward into this woodland watching as a gentle breeze blows the leaves from the branches as they float and sway down to the ground.
The blanket of leaves beneath your feet rustling with each step you take.
Imagine slowing down your footsteps as the autumn trees welcome you into their embrace.
Birdsong echoes through the trees and seeds slip from the branches grasp.
Sprinklings of sentiments shaken from the trees who now have space to breathe.
As you step deeper into the woodland see if you can invite your breath to go deeper too.
A longer inhale of this nourishing oxygen around you and a steady release of an exhale as you breathe out slowly and gently with ease.
Imagine that you arrive at a clearing in the woods now.
A large oak tree full of wisdom rests at the center.
I invite you to take a seat next to this oak tree observing nature slowing down around you.
You watch as the trees let go of their leaves with ease and grace.
Each leaf has a story to tell.
As they float to the ground it's like their dance of freedom.
Just like the trees and their leaves we each have many stories that make us who we are today.
Some stories may be beginning while others must come to an end so that we can move forwards in this cycle of change just like nature's seasons around us.
The leaves that have been released from the trees now become part of the nourishment of the trees roots part of their story.
They become the seeds of the future wishes to be birthed again in beauty in unison with nature's cycle of growth.
So I invite you to imagine releasing your stories that you wish to let go of.
Stories that may have come to an end or are stopping you from moving forwards.
Just imagine sitting with this big oak tree releasing those seeds to the ground.
Imagine the earth welcoming all you wish to let go of and using this energy to help nourish the future seeds that you wish to grow within yourself.
And feeling the support of the trees around you.
Nature's wisdom holding you I invite you to imagine standing next to the oak tree lifting your head up towards the sky taking a deep inhale a slow exhale and feeling the autumn sunlight on your face.
As you begin to venture forwards through the woods I invite you to imagine that a weight is lifted from your shoulders.
Nature around you supporting you helping you to feel a little lighter in your footsteps.
Lifting the weight you've been carrying and transforming this.
Use space to breathe fully deeply.
Now letting this autumn scene fade in your mind bringing your awareness back to your body noticing your body grounded steady and stable.
Take a beautiful inhale another slow exhale and placing a hand on your heart feeling that connection to yourself.
Now with space to breathe I wonder which seeds you would love to plant to grow in your future.
Namaste
