Hello,
And welcome to today's meditation.
As we embark on this journey today,
Know that this meditation can be listened to at any time of the year,
And can be done seated or if you're craving a little more momentum.
You can listen to this while journaling,
Stretching,
Or walking.
Whatever suits you best in this moment.
Let's begin by placing our hands on our heart and taking a few deep breaths,
Consciously inviting presence into our body,
Using every inhale and exhale to arrive here into the present moment.
If you're in a place to do so,
You can place your hands down,
Palms facing up in receiving mode,
And gently close your eyes,
Or if you've chosen to journal or walk,
Simply settle into a relaxed presence,
Gently taking in the world around you.
We often only have one or two times a year to reflect back on our year and look forward to the year ahead,
But there's no magical rule that January is our only time to do this.
So today,
We're going to find the magic in ourselves,
And no matter what the date is,
Use this very day to turn to our next chapter and celebrate our new year.
Settling back into an easy breath,
Feeling the ribs and belly expand and contract,
We're going to answer four simple questions today that will allow us to step into this new year refreshed and renewed.
We will look back on our past,
Ground in our present,
And then leap into our future.
Let's begin by looking back on the last 365 days of the year.
See yourself floating gently on a cloud that moves through time and space as you watch the past year play out like a movie before you.
As you watch,
Note your emotions,
Your experiences,
All the highs and the lows.
And if anything feels like too much to access right now,
Allow a breeze to gently move your cloud along to experiences you want to recall right now from the past year.
As you float along,
Begin to answer your first question.
What one word would describe my past year?
Answer this question now and breathe into your response as you float above your year,
Seeing it all together before you.
See your cloud floating back now to the present moment and dropping you firmly on the ground as you begin to walk toward your future.
With each step you take,
See the power of your footsteps as flowers,
Trees,
And plants spring to life around you.
Each move you make toward your future creates literal blooming that points you on the path to your year ahead.
And as you walk,
You reflect on where you are right now.
What is working?
What's not?
How you're feeling emotionally,
Physically,
And spiritually in the present moment.
As you continue to walk forward,
You answer your next question.
What is it you want to leave behind as you step into your new year?
When you have your answer,
It begins to come to life before you.
Whether it's an emotion,
A person,
An experience,
A job you want to leave behind,
See it come to life now and take a moment to say goodbye to it and watch as leaves and flower petals begin to swirl around it,
A sign of your own power to leave this behind now.
The flowers and leaves swirl and swirl,
And when they finally settle on the ground,
Creating a rainbow tapestry rolling out before you to show you the path toward your future,
What you want to leave behind has completely disappeared.
And you can step forward now,
Feeling unburdened and so much lighter and more free.
As you walk forward,
Each step you take toward your future blooms more flowers along your path.
Trees grow a beautiful canopy over you as nature comes to life around you.
On your path,
You come across a stream in a clearing.
It is flowing gently and looks refreshing and bright.
You can see a few fish swimming along.
You take in the sound of the water as it moves over mossy rocks and let it wash over your toes,
Cool and calming.
Within the ripples of this stream is where you uncover your next question.
What do you want to bring with you into this new year?
Something you're proud of,
Or know you'll need as you look toward your future.
As you answer this question,
You see the water in the stream begin to glow an iridescent blue,
Lighting up with what you want to bring into the new year.
And you gently splash in the stream,
Allowing this to wash over you,
Infusing you now with what you want to bring forward into this year ahead.
As you emerge from the stream,
You see your future ahead of you.
It's not quite clear yet,
But the closer you get,
The clearer it becomes.
As you walk toward it,
I want you to begin to think about your year ahead.
In your wildest dreams,
Think about what this might look like.
Your resolutions,
Your expectations,
Your greatest wishes.
And as you do this,
Begin to tune in to how it feels in your body and your mind.
For some people,
This might feel exciting and full of potential.
But for others,
This often feels heavy,
Exhausting,
Or like way too much.
So I welcome you now to take a seat at the root of a gorgeous tree up ahead.
And allow yourself to soften here for a few moments,
Releasing those expectations,
Many wishes and resolutions,
Knowing that they will come,
But that we must first allow ourselves to begin our year in a state of relaxation,
Softness and calm.
Instead,
Think of one intention you want to bring into the year ahead.
This could be a word,
A feeling,
A quote,
Or even a color.
See that intention begin to glow in front of you.
A calming ball of light floating maybe six inches in front of your face,
Warming it like the sun.
Your intention begins to float gently toward your future.
As you rise to follow it along the path,
This glowing light recharging you with each step forward,
Creating both a calming base and an incredible source of energy for the year ahead.
As you continue to walk toward your future,
This light surrounds you and your intention merges with you now.
Beginning to visualize this light at the base of your spine,
Glowing brightly with the potential of the new year.
Breathe in as you visualize this light moving up your spine,
Energizing you for this new year ahead.
And exhale,
Allowing the light of your intention to move back down the channel of your body to the base of your spine,
Supporting you with a steady foundation for this year ahead.
Again,
Inhale light moving up through your spine to the crown of your head,
Creating more and more energy.
And exhale back down to rest at your spine's base as this light surrounds you with grounding and calm.
Continue now as I count down,
Each breath a confident step toward your new year and intention.
Inhaling 10,
Exhaling 10,
Exhaling 9,
Exhaling 8,
Exhaling 7,
As this new year begins and you arrive in this new chapter,
This light begins to expand out,
Making your body and the space around you glow,
Spreading your magical light to everyone and everything you will touch this year.
Bathing the whole year ahead that spans out around you in this energizing light of growth,
Positivity and possibilities.
You see all around you your wildest dreams and greatest wishes for the year awaiting you to uncover them as they glow from the power of the intention you set for the year.
The light dances across your year ahead like sun breaking through clouds and you smile as it warms your face and illuminates this world around you.
Take a few moments here to relish in the potential of this new year and celebrate this new page you are turning,
Visualizing your intention for the year coming to life around you,
Illuminated by the glowing light you created,
Moving throughout your year,
Your new year,
Which begins right now.
As we prepare to close,

Sealing in this practice today.
We don't need some grand event like the turn of the year to turn the page on our own experience and welcome in new possibilities and intentions.
You have the power to shift your path,
Step into a different life and a higher vibration whenever you choose.
So choose today to welcome in a new year for yourself,
One alight with endless possibilities,
Positivity,
And potential.
Deep breath in and exhaling,
Slowly opening your eyes and reorienting to the world around you.
