Hi,
My name is Crystal and I am here to read you the story of the mindful apple's journey.
Settle in and get relaxed,
Close your eyes if you'd like,
And follow me through the journey.
Once upon a time,
In a peaceful orchard,
There lived an apple named Annie.
She wasn't just any apple,
She was a little apple who loved to sit in the sunshine and enjoy the soft breeze that whispered through the trees.
Annie was a curious apple,
Always looking around and noticing the beautiful things around her,
Like the butterflies fluttering by and the puffy clouds that shaped themselves into all sorts of animals in the sky.
One morning,
As the sun gently rose over the horizon,
Annie felt something different in the air.
It was her time to leave the tree.
She had grown big and shiny and now she was ready for her next adventure.
But before she let go,
She wanted to say goodbye to her home.
Annie closed her eyes,
Took a deep breath,
And felt the warmth of the sun on her skin.
Thank you,
Sun,
She whispered.
You've helped me grow big and strong.
She felt the gentle breeze tickling her leaves and she giggled.
Thank you,
Wind,
Annie said,
For helping me dance in the air and for keeping me cool.
On those hot days.
Then she felt the strength of the branch holding her up as she snuggled closer to it,
Feeling so safe.
Thank you,
Tree,
She murmured,
For keeping me safe and cozy while I grew.
With a soft pop,
Annie let go of the branch and floated down to the soft green grass below.
She landed with a little plop and wiggled into the cool earth.
She sighed,
Feeling calm and happy.
As Annie sat there,
She noticed how quiet and peaceful the orchard was.
The birds were chirping gently,
The leaves rustled in the wind,
And everything felt just right.
Annie decided to take a moment to simply breathe.
She inhaled slowly,
Noticing how the air smelled fresh and sweet.
And then she exhaled,
Feeling her whole cute little apple self relaxing.
Suddenly,
A friendly squirrel scampered over.
Hello,
Little apple,
Said the squirrel,
Nibbling on an acorn.
What are you doing here all by yourself?
I'm just sitting here and enjoying the peaceful day,
Annie replied to the squirrel.
I'm being mindful.
I'm just noticing all the wonderful things around me.
The squirrel tilted its head.
Mindful?
What's that?
Annie smiled.
It's when you take a moment to pay attention to everything around you.
How the air feels,
The sounds that you hear,
And even how your body feels on the ground.
This helps to keep me calm and happy.
The squirrel thought for a moment.
That sounds nice.
Can I try?
Of course,
Annie said.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in.
The squirrel did as Annie said,
Breathing in the crisp orchard air.
Now breathe out slowly,
Annie instructed.
The squirrel let out a long,
Slow breath and opened his eyes,
Looking so peaceful.
Wow,
Said the squirrel.
I feel so calm now.
Just then,
A little ladybug landed on Annie's shiny red skin.
Hello,
Said the ladybug.
What are you doing down here in the grass?
We are practicing being mindful,
Annie explained.
Would you like to join us?
The ladybug smiled and perched on a blade of grass next to Annie.
Sure,
What do I do?
Just close your eyes and listen carefully to the world around you,
Said Annie.
Notice the sounds,
Notice the sounds like the rustling leaves and the soft buzz of the bees.
The ladybug closed her tiny eyes and listened carefully.
Before she knew it,
She was smiling from antenna to wing.
I feel so peaceful now,
She said.
One by one,
More animals came to join Annie.
A wise old owl,
A gentle deer,
Even a shy rabbit.
All came out to practice being mindful with her.
They sat together in the quiet orchard,
Breathing slowly and fully enjoying the moment.
As the sun began to set,
Painting the sky with soft pinks and purples,
Annie felt grateful for her mindful journey and all the new friends that she met.
She learned that by paying attention to the world around her,
She could feel more calm and happier inside.
Thank you everyone,
Said Annie,
For sharing this peaceful day with me.
Remember,
Whenever you feel worried or restless,
You can always stop what you're doing,
Breathe,
And notice the beauty around you.
With that,
The animals smiled and went on their way,
Each carrying a little bit of peace with them.
Annie snuggled deeper into the grass,
Feeling warm and content as the stars began to twinkle above her.
And so,
As our mindful little apple drifted off to sleep,
Knowing that tomorrow would bring brand new exciting adventures,
But she would always have this calm,
Peaceful moment to return to whenever she needed it.
Thank you so much for joining me tonight.
I hope you carry this peace with you wherever you go,
And that you have a beautiful day.
