Welcome,
My name is Sandhya.
This meditation is designed to help you release that inner self-critic.
Living with ADHD can sometimes lead to feelings of self-doubt.
Frustration.
And a harsh,
Inner voice.
But today,
We've practiced shifting towards kindness.
Remember the more you practice this,
The more you show up for yourself.
You're reinforcing your self worth.
If you've ever felt you are not enough.
Or perhaps you've criticized yourself for struggling with things that seem so easy for others.
I want you to know you are not alone.
I've been there too,
Many times.
Many people who have ADHD or ADD.
Experience this self-date.
It's often from years of feeling misunderstood.
And trying to keep up with others.
Often we've been told to just try harder.
But ADHD is not a lack of effort.
It's a different way of thinking and being.
It's okay to have moments of struggle.
And to not feel perfect.
And right now I invite you to release any self-judgement.
And embrace some self-compassion.
Place your hand at your heart center at the center of the chest.
And take a deep breath in.
And a long slow breath out.
Breath in.
And I.
And repeat after me silently or loud.
These affirmations.
I embrace.
My uniqueness.
I embrace.
My uniqueness.
I treat myself.
With kindness.
I treat myself.
With kindness.
Take a deep breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Letting go.
Of any self.
Criticism.
You've carried.
Where you speak to yourself internally.
Speak to yourself as you would a dear friend.
Good boy,
Young child.
Speak with kindness.
Because you deserve this gentleness.
You are doing your best and that is enough.
And whenever that inner voice comes in.
Critiquing.
Judging.
Know you are more than your struggles.
You are worthy,
Lovable,
And enough just as you are.
I'd like to end this with a poem that I wrote.
It is about all the judgments that I carried.
After finding out in adulthood.
That have ADHD.
I'm choosing not to hide anymore.
I will not be embarrassed by my flaws.
Before I used to run and hide.
From those feelings I felt inside.
Am I mad,
Strange,
Or simply odd?
I wonder,
Do I belong to any squad?
The inner chaos won't relent.
A restless storm without an end.
Judgements,
Judgements left.
Plunging me into fight or flight.
I'm trying to learn.
I'm trying to hear.
But where do I start?
When it's all so unclear.
I'm losing confidence day by day.
Does it have to be this way?
This year is the time I'll make a change.
No longer hiding.
Or trying in vain.
Suddenly the puzzle clicks into place.
ADHD the reason for all of this race.
Why did I not understand before?
No longer will I fear my flaws.
Today I am going to make a change.
To let go of all the judgements.
And play.
Today is a day I will have courage to stand proud.
Begin to release.
DNA shine.
To those who have felt misplaced,
Alone and want to hide.
To those who felt different,
Who struggled and cried.
Let's accept ourselves and let go of the shame.
Today we will stand proud.
Acceptance and love.
Is the way.
And take a moment to accept and love yourself.
Let's continue to carry this sense of self-acceptance with us.
Thank you so much for listening.
