Wherever you are,
However you arrived here,
Tonight,
You are welcome.
This is your time,
There is nothing you need to do now.
Nothing you need to soul,
Nothing to remember,
Nowhere else to be.
Let your body find the steady ground beneath you,
The soft and supportive bed,
Just let yourself feel it,
But rarely feel it,
How it rises up to meet you and how it holds you.
You don't have to hold yourself anymore.
Something else is doing that now.
Take a gentle but full breath in through your nose and let it out slowly,
Arriving together.
You have been carrying so much today,
The thoughts,
The conversations,
The things you said,
The things you didn't say,
The list that never quite ended,
All of it held in the body,
In your shoulders,
And now gently,
We're going to lay it all down,
Not to fix it,
Not to solve it,
Not to decide anything,
Just laying it down,
Like laying something heavy and dear upon a table.
Take another full breath in,
And as you breathe out slowly,
Imagine the weight of the day softening,
Like snow beginning to melt.
There is nothing wrong with you.
You did enough today.
You are enough.
Now,
Let your awareness move gently into your body.
Notice the back of your head resting on the pillow,
Supported,
And you feel the weight of it.
Let it be heavy,
Let it sink a little deeper,
Your shoulders,
Let them fall away from your ears,
A little further than you thought you could,
Your chest,
Your belly,
Rising and falling on their own,
Your body knows how to breathe,
It has always known,
Your hands,
Your fingers,
Uncurling and softening,
There is nothing to grip,
Your legs,
Heavy and long,
Your feet,
Warm and still,
You are here in this body,
In this bed,
In this moment,
Nothing is required of you.
Now place a hand on your heart,
If that feels good,
Or simply let your awareness rest there,
In your heart center.
The heart has been beating for you all day,
All your life long,
Without being asked,
Just quietly,
Steadily.
Feel the warmth there,
And know that you are loved,
Not because of what you did today,
Not because of what you will do tomorrow,
But simply because you exist,
Because you are here.
Imagine a soft golden light,
Beginning to glow at the center of your chest,
Steady,
With each breath it spreads a little further,
Into your arms,
Into your legs,
Right into the tips of your fingers and toes,
Until you are filled with warmth,
You are safe,
You are held,
And the sound you can hear,
Let it carry you,
See if you can listen to the sound with your body,
Let it move through your body like water,
The day is done,
Everything you need will find you in the morning.
Right now,
There is only this,
The warmth of the bed,
The rise and fall of your breath,
The sound that holds you,
You are not alone,
Even in the quiet of this room,
You are surrounded by love that doesn't need to announce itself,
By a stillness that has always been there,
Waiting for you,
Let your thoughts drift,
Like leaves on a slow dark river,
You don't have to follow them,
You don't have to catch them,
Just let them float away,
And let yourself drift too,
Softer,
Quieter,
You are loved,
You are safe,
Allow yourself to let go of the day,
And deeply rest in this safety.
