Welcome.
So this is a bedtime journey.
A gentle walk through a quiet forest under the stars where your body can relax,
Your mind can unwind and sleep can come naturally like falling into the arms of the earth.
Make yourself comfortable.
Lie down in your bed.
Let your arms rest by your sides or on your body.
Allow your jaw to soften and relax and your eyelids to grow heavy.
Take a slow deep breath in and a long slow breath out.
Keep doing that at your own pace for a little while.
With each exhale allowing yourself to drift just a little further from the day.
Your body becoming heavier and more deeply relaxed.
Drifting closer to rest,
Closer to the world of dreams.
Begin to imagine that you're standing at the edge of a quiet forest.
And it's nighttime.
The stars are overhead,
Bright and clear.
The moon glows above,
Lighting the path just enough to guide your steps.
There's a gentle wind in the trees,
Whispering like a lullaby.
Ahead a path stretches into the woods,
Surrounded by ferns and lined with tall trees.
You feel drawn to it,
Calm,
Safe,
As if the forest is inviting you in.
You take your first step onto the path and with it your body relaxes even more deeply.
The forest welcomes you.
As you walk you notice the sounds of the night all around you.
The hush of the leaves,
The occasional rustle,
An owl calling gently in the distance.
Your feet move slowly,
Steadily.
With every step you leave behind a little more of the day.
Letting go of thoughts.
Letting go of doing.
Simply being.
The trees arch above you like guardians,
Ancient and kind.
You notice soft light flickering in the distance.
Perhaps moonlight.
Perhaps fireflies.
Perhaps something magical.
Let your imagination wander freely.
Just drift.
After some time walking you arrive at an open space in the forest.
The moonlight pools here like silver water.
In the middle is a soft place to lie down.
A bed of moss,
Leaves or something that feels safe and familiar to you.
You move towards it and slowly lie down.
As you relax there you feel completely supported,
Held by the earth,
Cradled by the forest.
Your body begins to feel heavy,
Warm,
Deeply relaxed.
You can hear your breath blending with the rhythm of the forest.
Nothing is expected of you now.
There's nowhere to go.
Nothing to do.
Just rest.
Above you the Milky Way shifts slowly.
You feel like you're floating or maybe sinking into something softer,
Deeper.
And then just nearby you notice something.
A gently glowing archway or a doorway in the trees.
Like a dream gate.
It's not made of stone or wood,
It's made of light.
A guide appears next to you.
Someone gentle,
Quiet,
Familiar.
They don't speak but their presence brings peace.
They simply smile and nod to you and invite you to cross the threshold into sleep.
Into dreaming.
You don't need to understand what's next,
Only to allow.
Take another slow deep breath in and let it flow out and step through the doorway into the dream world.
There's nothing now but calm,
Stillness.
A drifting softness that surrounds you.
You are safe.
You are at home.
The forest slowly fades.
The stars dim.
And you drift.
No effort.
No thought.
Just the slow gentleness of breath.
The arrival of sleep.
Let go.
Let your body rest.
Let your thoughts float away like mist.
Let yourself dream.
You are deeply relaxed.
Deeply safe.
And ready to fall fast asleep.
