Welcome and good morning.
I'm really glad you're here.
My name is Mark Rowland.
This is a short space to begin your day with a little more intention,
A little more energy and a clearer sense of where you're heading today.
Nothing you need to force,
Just a gentle way of stepping into today.
Bring your attention into your body.
Notice how you feel this morning.
No need to judge it.
No need to change it.
Just notice.
Now begin to feel your breath.
Steady and natural.
No need to change how you're breathing.
Just let each breath help you arrive into today a little more.
You might notice thoughts already moving.
Things to do,
Things to remember.
But rather than getting caught up in them,
Just notice them passing through.
And gently return to the breath.
This is where your day begins.
Not in the rush of everything,
But right here,
Right now,
With this awareness.
Now bring to mind the day ahead of you.
Just a light sense of it.
And ask yourself,
What feels important to me today?
Not everything in your day,
Just one thing.
Choose something that really matters to you.
Something you'd feel really good about giving your energy to.
And notice how it feels to simply acknowledge that.
You don't have to do everything today all at once,
You just have to begin.
And let that be enough.
Okay,
Take a slightly deeper breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Feel your body waking up.
Again,
Breathing in a little more energy.
And out,
Settling into readiness for the day.
There can be a natural sense of movement here.
Allow it a willingness to step forward.
In your own way,
And at your own pace.
Begin to notice the space around you.
The sounds,
The light.
The space of the room that you're in.
Gently move your fingers and your toes.
And when you're ready,
Open up your eyes.
And carry this with you,
That sense of a beginning.
That small step forward.
And return to it whenever you need it today.
And as you step back in your day,
There's no need to hold on to anything too tightly.
Just have that simple sense of having begun.
You've already taken a step this morning,
And that can carry further than you might expect.
As your day unfolds,
See if you can return to that intention you set.
In a way that feels natural for you.
And if things do get busy,
Or your intention gets pulled from one place to the next.
Just know that's completely fine,
Because you can always begin again.
