As we begin this journey inward,
Find a comfortable position,
Either lying down or sitting in a supportive chair.
Close your eyes gently and take a deep,
Nourishing breath.
Feel the air filling your lungs,
Expanding your chest and belly.
As you exhale,
Let go of any tension you've been carrying.
Imagine a warm golden light entering through the crown of your head.
This light is healing,
Soothing and brings with it a deep sense of relaxation.
As we move through this body scan,
Allow this light to flow through each part of your body,
Bringing awareness and release.
Let's start with your feet.
Bring your attention to your toes,
Noticing any sensations present.
Perhaps you feel a slight tingling,
Or maybe they feel heavy and warm.
Whatever you experience,
Simply observe without judgment.
Imagine the golden light flowing into your toes,
Bringing with it a sense of relaxation and ease.
Now,
Let this awareness move up to your feet and ankles.
Notice the weight of your feet against the surface beneath you.
Feel the bones,
Muscles and skin.
If there's any tension,
Allow it to soften and melt away as the warm light envelops your feet.
Gradually shift your focus to your calves and knees.
Notice any sensations here.
Perhaps a feeling of heaviness,
Lightness or maybe no particular feeling at all.
That's perfectly okay.
Just observe whatever is present.
Let the golden light soothe any areas of discomfort or tension.
Move your attention to your thighs.
These large muscles often hold a lot of tension from our daily activities.
As you breathe deeply,
Imagine the light penetrating deep into the tissue,
Releasing any held stress or fatigue.
Bring your awareness to your hips and lower back.
This area is often a repository for stress and discomfort.
As you breathe,
Picture the golden light flowing into this region,
Soothing and relaxing each muscle and joint.
With each exhale,
Let go of any tension you might be holding here.
Now focus on your abdomen and chest.
Notice the gentle rise and fall as you breathe.
Feel the expansion on the inhale and the relaxation on the exhale.
Allow the warm light to fill your torso,
Bringing a sense of calm to your internal organs.
Shift your attention to your hands and arms.
Notice any sensations in your fingers,
Palms,
Wrists,
And all the way up to your shoulders.
Perhaps you feel a slight pulsing or warmth.
Let the golden light flow through your arms,
Releasing any tension or tightness.
Bring your focus to your neck and throat.
This area often holds tension from the stresses of daily life.
As you breathe,
Imagine the light gently massaging this area,
Allowing the muscles to soften and relax.
Move to your face.
Notice your jaw.
Is it clenched or relaxed?
Let it soften.
Feel your cheeks,
Your nose,
Your forehead.
Allow any tension in your facial muscles to melt away as the warm light caresses your face.
Finally,
Bring your attention to the top of your head.
Feel the golden light encompassing your entire being from the crown of your head to the tips of your toes.
You are bathed in this healing,
Soothing light.
Now take a moment to scan your entire body.
Notice how each part feels.
Is there a difference from when we began?
Perhaps you feel heavier,
More relaxed,
Or more connected to your physical self.
As we conclude this body scan,
Take a few deep breaths.
With each inhale,
Draw in a sense of peace and well-being.
With each exhale,
Release any remaining tension or discomfort.
Remember,
This heightened awareness of your body is always available to you.
You can return to this practice anytime you need to center yourself or release tension.
Slowly begin to wiggle your fingers and toes,
Gently reawakening your body.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes,
Carrying with you this sense of relaxation and bodily awareness.
Thank you for taking this time to connect with yourself.
May the peace and awareness you've cultivated stay with you throughout your day and night.
