Welcome Today we are going to be doing what I'm calling a guided meditation so we're gonna get ourselves into our meditation space and then we are going to be working with the prayer of St.
Francis.
I find this prayer to be one of the most powerful and attuning prayers out there and Mother Teresa actually used to say this prayer every single day of our lives.
So let us first begin by getting settled into our space and whatever that means for you today,
Maybe you are sitting on a chair,
Maybe you are in a cushion,
Maybe you're standing and maybe there's a chance that you are listening to this in some other form.
So go ahead and wherever you are find a nice lift through your upper chest and allow the shoulder blades to melt down the back,
Allow the hands to rest gently where they find themselves and begin to soften the brow,
Soften the jaw.
Allow the ears to move back in space.
Starting with a clear seat to attune our body and then we allow the words to further attune our spirit.
If you haven't already make sure you bring your eyes to close and begin to follow your breath.
Follow the inhale as it moves in through the nose and allow the exhale to fall softly out into the room.
Finding with each inhale an expansive and luminous quality and with each exhale a relaxing and grounding quality.
Now as we begin to move into our prayer,
You're welcome to just listen and allow the words to fall,
Allow it to fill you and connect with you however it needs to connect or you're welcome to say the prayer long or silently in your head,
Whatever you feel called and connected to do right now.
Take one more breath Lord make me an instrument of your peace where there is hatred,
Let me sow love.
Where there is injury,
Pardon.
Where there is doubt,
Faith.
Where there is despair,
Hope.
Where there is error,
Truth.
Where there is darkness,
Light.
And where there is sadness,
Joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.
Lord make me an instrument of your peace.
Just that first line.
What it does is it sets you up and allows you to give your control to a higher power.
It takes away not the responsibility of our lives,
But the need to feel like we're the ones in control.
And I invite you to take just this line almost as an intention as you go out through your day or for tomorrow.
And just simply repeating,
Lord make me an instrument of your peace in all situations.
You can begin to make your life a meditation by simply being at work,
Being at home or with whoever you're with and in that moment saying Lord make me an instrument of your peace.
What does your will want to express through me right now?
I'd like us to move through the next few lyrics and maybe there's something else that is more pertinent to your own life in this moment.
Maybe you're finding a hatred situation that you need to still love.
Maybe you have doubt in your own journey and you need faith.
Maybe you're sad and you need to bring joy to the situation.
And maybe silently say whatever resonates with you in your head.
Where there's hatred,
Let me still love.
Where there's doubt,
Faith.
Where there's sadness,
Joy.
And as you do this,
Continue to connect with your breath.
Continue to find that opening.
Allow your heart to open as you allow yourself to be made an instrument of thy peace.
And knowing that whatever you give into this world whatever you've given to this day,
You will receive back.
Because what we do to another is really what we are doing to ourselves.
And take a few more moments.
Maybe you know the prayer and you want to just again say some lines in your head.
Maybe you just want to breathe and repeat that simple phrase of Lord make me an instrument of your peace.
And when you feel ready you can slowly begin to come back to the connection,
The attunement of your body,
Your hands,
And your thighs.
May you go out and be the blessing that you are.
May you be an instrument of that peace.
And may the light of love,
Joy,
And faith shine brightly from you.
When you feel ready,
You can open your eyes and come back to your day.
Amen and Namaste.
