Let's take a small pause and stop for a moment in the middle of the day.
There is nothing you need to fix or change right now.
This practice is simply an opportunity to notice how you are.
You can close your eyes or keep a soft,
Relaxed gaze.
And first,
Just bring attention to the body.
How does the body feel right now?
If there are any tension.
Fatigue.
Or maybe a little more ease or relaxation.
Perhaps some parts of the body feel heavy or restless.
And some parts feel calmer.
We just notice in all body sensations that appear.
There is no need to analyze the sensations,
Just notice them.
And now gently notice your inner state.
How are you right now?
Is there a calmness?
Expansion.
Anxiety,
It may be tiredness,
Irritation.
Or maybe something else.
Sometimes our state feels very clear and sometimes it feels vague or mixed.
You don't need to find the perfect words.
We are simply practicing noticing our inner emotional state.
Now please take a few more slow breaths.
Feel the body as a whole.
The contact of the body with the surface beneath you.
Notice the sounds around you.
And perhaps bring this small quality of awareness with you into this day.
Not only noticing what is happening around you,
But sometimes noticing your inner state as well.
