Welcome,
Welcome to a new day,
A new morning,
A new beginning,
New opportunity to express an experience.
I invite you to close your eyes for a minute.
Allow your awareness to reach inward,
Allow your awareness to be a witness to all the systems working within your body to start this new day.
Your heart beating and your pulse like a call and response of the circulatory system and the nervous system regulating your emotions,
Thoughts,
Movements,
Sensations,
Your digestive system breaking down,
Feeding your body.
Your endocrine system regulating your hormones,
Working with metabolism,
Development,
The reproductive system,
And all the different stages we go through with hormones.
The musculoskeletal system supports us,
Shapes us,
Creates stability in our bodies,
Allows us to move forward,
To move back,
Protecting all of our organs,
Allows us to pivot in life.
The lymphatic system that helps us filter and fight infections,
That brings balance into the body,
That connects with the immune system that keeps us healthy,
That fights off diseases,
Illnesses,
Viruses,
The respiratory system,
Air circulating in and out of your body,
Feeding and nourishing your cells.
Feel the aliveness of each breath as you breathe in the new day ahead of you.
Arrive here in your body,
Your bones,
Your skeleton,
Your muscles,
Tissues,
Tendons and ligaments,
Nerves,
Organs,
All your senses,
All of your body.
Allow your awareness to stretch like a full body stretch inside your skin,
Waking up to this new day.
Allow your awareness to scan from the top of your head to the bottom of your spine,
From the fingertips on your right hand to the fingertips on your left hand,
From your toes to your skull.
And as your awareness passes through all of these places in your body,
It gently wakes your body up,
Brings your presence in.
Welcome to a new day,
New opportunity to experience and express new possibilities,
New ways of moving in this world.
I invite your awareness to gently shift to witnessing the breath,
Maybe witnessing the flow of breath from inhalation to exhalation.
And your breath today might be a raging river,
A bubbling brook,
A trickling stream.
No judgment here,
Just get a snapshot.
Just a snapshot of how you're receiving nourishment,
How you're feeding your cells with oxygen,
And how you're giving that carbon dioxide back to the world.
Just noticing the dance between inhalation and exhalation,
And with your awareness on your breath,
Knowing that each inhale nourishes,
Nurtures,
And gives to you.
And each exhale allows you to give back to the outside world,
Allowing your awareness to notice the riverbed that your breath runs along.
Can you feel where your body undulates under the breath?
Can you feel the movement of your body atop the breath?
It is okay if you don't,
But just noticing.
Welcome to a new day,
New opportunities to express and experience new possibilities,
New ways to move in this world with your awareness.
And to begin this day,
Let's take a round of nine physiological sighs.
A physiological sigh is two gentle sips in through the nose.
It sounds like this.
Opening your mouth and sighing it out.
We'll do this nine times.
You can follow me,
Or you can do it at your own pace.
Inhaling,
And releasing the physiological sigh.
Once again,
Allowing your awareness to stretch into all corners of your body.
Welcoming this new day,
Welcoming this new possibilities,
New ways of expressing,
Of experiencing,
Of moving through your day with awareness.
You get to move through the day,
Balancing your nervous system,
Bringing awareness to your breath,
Scanning your body smoothly.
Namaste.
