Simply close your eyes and feel your breath coming in and out of your body.

You don't need to manipulate your breath or breathe deep even.

You don't need to count your breath,

Just witness how your body is breathing you today.

Your body is an instrument of our creativity.

Everything our body takes in,

From what we see,

What we feel,

What we hear,

What we smell,

What we taste,

What we remember,

What we question,

What we read,

All becomes pieces of our creativity.

And how we express in this world.

Our body is our unique instrument of expression.

Our body is our unique instrument of expression.

Two people or ten people can witness the same sunrise or sunset.

A hundred people could witness the same sunrise or sunset.

A thousand people or ten thousand people can witness the same sunrise and sunset.

And no two of those people will express it the same way because our body is our unique instrument of expression and creativity.

We all have different memories,

Different senses,

Different ways of understanding the world.

No two of us are alike.

Our body is our unique instrument of expression and creativity.

So as you're breathing,

Just aware of your unique expression of breath,

Inhale and exhale.

Not trying to change it,

But just witnessing and being aware of it.

It's bringing your attention like an invitation to your breath.

Start to open up that beautiful instrument of your unique expression and creativity.

Open up your ears to the vibrations all around you.

Open up your sense of smell,

Your sense of taste.

What does your mouth taste like today?

Open up your sense of feeling.

Can you place your hands somewhere on your body and just feel the shape,

The temperature,

The tones of feeling from this body part.

Open your eyes and see what you see around you,

Colors,

Shapes,

Symbols.

And as you're just opening all these senses up,

Warming them up for your next creative expression,

Notice the first memory that comes to you.

Do you have a memory that is close to you right now that you could pick up and look at like a crystal ball?

And you can take all of those senses that we opened up and put them into that memory.

Even if it was five minutes ago,

What did you see,

Feel,

Taste,

Smell,

Or hear?

Mindfulness is one of the beautiful practices that's come about as being very popular in the last 25 years,

And it is a tool of the creative person.

The more present we are with our body,

Which is our unique instrument for expression and creativity,

It is so valuable for us.

So just simply coming back to your breath.

Don't change it.

Just feel it.

Feel the temperature in and out.

Feel where your breath moves your body.

Feel if it gets stuck anywhere.

Take your awareness on a trip with your breath.

And when you're ready,

You might want to write,

Or paint,

Or doodle,

Or garden.

You might want to call a friend and have a wonderful conversation.

You might want to daydream or play with your kids.

But we have opened up your senses.

We have turned on your body,

Your unique instrument of expression and creativity.

Thank you so much for joining me.

I'm Jocelyn.

Namaste.
