So starting by just allowing the body to settle,
However you are.
You might be sitting,
Standing or lying down.
Your eyes may be closed or softly resting your gaze.
There's no right or wrong way to be.
Just taking a moment to become aware of your body just as it is.
And then noticing with curiosity the points of contact between your body and the ground,
How you're being held by the earth in this moment.
And noticing how the earth quietly supports you in every moment,
Doesn't ask who you are,
How your day was,
Whether you are patient or calm or perfect in any way.
It simply holds you.
So however you are in this moment,
Confused,
Tired,
Disappointed,
Angry,
Knowing the ground is still here quietly supporting you.
Allowing yourself to feel that support right now,
The steadiness underneath.
It's being held just as you are.
And becoming curious about exactly how you're being supported in this moment.
Maybe by something soft or something firm.
Maybe your feet are touching the floor or maybe your weight's resting on a chair,
A cushion,
A bed.
Maybe the weight's evenly balanced or maybe more on one side.
There's nothing wrong,
Nothing right,
Just noticing.
And then becoming aware of any other sensations that are present in the body for you right now.
Maybe tension,
Softness,
Restlessness,
Warmth.
Just very gently acknowledging what's there.
There's nothing special to find.
Just seeing what's there,
Acknowledging,
Knowing there's room for all of it.
And then very softly feeling the breath in the body,
Wherever it's easiest to notice.
There's no need to change or control the breath,
Just letting it be.
Simply watching the breath moving,
Watching it come and go.
You're now sensing the whole body.
The whole body is supported,
Alive,
Acknowledged.
There's nothing to fix,
Nothing to become.
Simply being as you are.
And as you bring this to a close,
Seeing if you might carry a sense of that quiet support into your day,
Just gently coming back in your own time.
