Monday Inspirations - A Symbol Of Cycles And Influence

Monday is referred to as The Moon's Day in Roman and Norse mythology and we take a look at our own life cycles and our bodies energy levels. We investigate how we can create our days in alignment to our own bodily cycles and how we can offer ourselves what is needed most as we move throughout our days and our lives.

Monday. Moon's day. A day associated with the moon which has been revered in many cultures for its cycles and influence. The beginning of a new week can mark the chance to start a fresh new cycle and feel rejuvenated from the weekend. We can start with hope and energy for the day ahead and we also want to know that we are starting off on a good footing for the rest of the week. This is when we can begin to take the day on at warp speed as our minds race in front of our bodies as they predict all that needs to be done this day and week ahead. Along with nature we are all influenced by cycles that surround us both externally and internally. We see the shifts in seasons, The way the light moves through the day and darkness leads us into the nights. We too have our own cycles in life. At times we are in creative mode where our lives are active and we have a lot going on. Other times life can feel fallow as though nothing is happening but underneath it all new life is forming and a new iteration and evolution of ourselves is being created. Knowing our own cycles in terms of when we have our most energy and our clearest in mind energy and our clearest in mind to knowing when we need rest is important. We can override this intuition in favor of the fast-paced culture we will live in where there is a 24-hour news cycle and we have access to an abundance of information in our phones. We can forget that we need to pay attention to what it is that we need and what works best for us as individuals. So here we will take some time to reacquaint ourselves with our needs. If you take some time to ask yourself what it is that you need and how you can offer that to yourself then this is a great place to start becoming attuned to your own body and its cycles. It may be that you know you need to rest more and get an extra hour of sleep a night and to do this and to do this you may decide to keep your phone in another room or buy a separate alarm clock to wake you up in the morning. You might want to keep a book by your bed so you can read before you sleep as opposed to scroll on your phone. It could be that you're always feeling a rush in the morning and you'd like a few minutes to gather yourself before the day's activities. You could find a morning stretching routine where you take five minutes and move your body where you can regulate your breathing so that you can feel calm in both body and mind before you begin your day. It really is an inventory of what you need and only you know what this is. So take a pen and a piece of paper and ask yourself the question what is it that I need that I can gift to myself? Does it have to be anything extravagant? In fact it is more likely that it's a small gesture that you could easily do but you never seem to get around to doing. This is where you get to answer this question for yourself and then find a way to meet that need. How can you look at the cycles of energy your body moves through during the day and see where you can balance that energy so that you feel clear when needed and rested when required? It's an exercise in getting to know yourself and your own bodily tunings. If you know by 3pm your body feels tired and lethargic and you still have several meetings ahead of you and that you have to be at your desk all day long then during a short break stretch your legs, Take a walk outside, Do some deep breathing. When we do small acts of kindness towards ourselves they can bring great rewards and unfortunately because they are so small we think they don't matter and won't make much of a difference so we don't do them. Think of what could be helpful to you and how you could include it into your day. Now let's move into today's affirmation session. These can be listened to at the start or end of your day. This can be listened to as you take a walk in nature or are going about your day. So take a full deep breath, Breathe in through your nose and take a full exhale through your mouth. Drop your shoulders, Release your jaw, Feel the muscles in your body soften and release tension. Know that you are safe and you are getting to know yourself. I am curious about what it is I need and I take the time to ask myself with kindness and compassion. I know how to take care of myself and I prioritize that care. I matter and am deeply cherished and precious. I am valued and appreciated as I am and I take a unique space in the world. I am valued and appreciated exactly as I am. I am inspiring in ways I may be totally unaware of to others. I am becoming attuned to my body and I can intuit what it needs and meet those needs. I impact and positively influence others. The breath in my body is my anchor to stay connected with myself. I give myself a mission to rest and replenish without guilt. I am a person who is not afraid of the world and I am a person who is not afraid of the world. I give myself a mission to rest and replenish without guilt.
