Hey,

It's Kristen.

Today,

I want to share a practice on longing.

If you enjoy this,

You're going to love my course on everyday sensuality.

Take a few deep breaths to center yourself.

Go ahead and bring your awareness to the center of your head.

And now bring your awareness to your feet.

Are your legs crossed?

Are they on the ground?

And now bring your awareness to your belly.

And just fill it up as you're breathing.

And as you center yourself,

Gently ask,

What do I desire?

Allow yourself to stay open to the answers that arise.

These desires can show up as anything,

Emotional needs,

Physical wants,

Spiritual aspirations,

Or even simple daily pleasures,

Like a coffee or a good plate of pasta.

Just listen to your inner voice and acknowledge your true desires.

Do you want a hug?

Would you like to cry?

Acknowledge your desires without judgment or censorship.

And now bring yourself into the desire of having something you've never had before.

This could be a material object,

No judgment.

This could be a feeling or some sort of conversation in a relationship,

An acknowledgment from somebody else.

Allow yourself to feel how much you want this.

Sometimes people say how badly you want this.

But I'd like to invite you into a reframe and ask you how deeply,

How goodly do you want this?

Let that just pulse through your body.

Bring it to your heart.

Bring it to your heart center.

And notice,

Sometimes we like to contract if we want something.

But I'm going to invite you to open your chest and pull your shoulders back.

And now think about what you want.

And just for this moment,

Together with me,

Allow yourself to want it deeply.

Allow it to just blow air through your chest and your body.

Desires are a natural part of our being.

They guide us to our fulfillment and to our joy.

And I want you to know that sometimes,

Even if you can't get what you want,

Allowing yourself to want it is much better than contracting.

Much better than contracting and holding yourself tight to not want it.

Wanting is already a sensation.

Wanting is already a partner.

Longing is already an experience.

Now continue to take a few deep breaths to center yourself.

Go ahead and allow that feeling of longing within your body.

And now really focus on what's the feeling in the body.

Perhaps a flutter in your chest.

Or it could create a tightness in your throat.

It could create both a warmth in your belly and a desire to contract.

Just allow yourself to be fully with this experience.

Be fully with this sensation.

No judgments,

No resistance.

And just let this wash over you like a wave.

Acknowledge your energy.

Is it feeling a little bit heightened?

Just be with it.

But really bring it into a roll and a wave.

Invite yourself out of contraction.

Invite yourself into a relationship with this longing.

Become partners with it.

Allow it to open new channels and new possibilities.

New thoughts,

New ideas.

But don't give yourself the responsibility of fulfilling them.

Because today is just about learning how to be in the longing.

Today is a beautiful key that you can take with you.

To know that this is also part of the journey.

To learn to become comfortable while you're on the way to the goal.

To learn to live the whole way through.

So go ahead and anchor this by bringing a smile to your face.

Bringing your awareness back to the center of your head.
