Hi,
In this guided meditation we will ease into stillness by settling into a comfortable position,
Connecting with our breath and gently observing thoughts as they pass,
Helping us stay grounded and present.
Start by finding a comfortable seated position.
Gently extend the spine upward,
Feet resting on the ground and your hands in your lap.
I invite you to gently soften the gaze or close down the eyes.
Let's take three rounds of deep breaths in your own time.
This is to allow the mind and body to settle.
And take a moment to briefly notice the area around the shoulders and neck.
Are there any tension or tightness?
Just observe the sensations,
There is no need to judge or analyze them.
Take a deep breath in through the nose and as you exhale,
Soften the shoulders,
Allow them to relax away from the ears.
With each exhale,
Feel the body and mind softening and relaxing all the way down to the tip of your toes.
Now gently shift your focus to the natural flow of the breath.
Just observe each inhale and exhale without trying to change it.
If thoughts enter the mind,
Imagine them as clouds drifting across a clear sky.
Notice each thought without judging or engaging with it.
Simply observe its form,
Then watch it drift away.
If the mind wanders to any thoughts,
Feelings or daydreaming,
Gently acknowledge these and guide your attention back to the breath.
Each time you do this,
You strengthen your ability to stay present.
Continue observing the breath for a little longer and I will bring you back in a few moments.
If the mind wanders,
Gently acknowledge it non-judgmentally and guide your attention back to the breath.
Now gently bring your awareness back to the body.
Notice those contact points between the body and the surface beneath you.
Feel the weight of the feet on the ground and hands resting in your lap.
And as we begin to close this meditation,
Take a moment to thank yourself for taking this brief pause to nourish the mind.
When you are ready,
Gently open your eyes and welcome yourself back to the here and now.
Thank you.
