Welcome to this brief session where we will explore what meditation is and what it isn't.
So let's start with the fundamental question.
What is meditation?
Meditation is the practice of bringing your attention to the present moment and gently guiding it back when distractions arise.
At its core,
It is simply the practice of focusing the mind.
So it's a way to train your brain to be more present,
More aware and more in tune with your thoughts,
Feelings and the world around you.
While there are many different forms of meditation,
They all share the same common goal,
To help you cultivate a sense of calm and clarity.
Meditation isn't about completely clearing your mind or stopping all thoughts.
It's about learning how to manage these.
Think of it as training your attention,
So you can gently bring your focus back to the present moment,
No matter how many distractions arise.
