Alright,
If you're feeling frustrated,
You have come to the right place.
Instead of trying to let it go.
I want you to take a moment with me and just embrace it.
Give me like a,
Oh.
When we get angry,
Usually we close our fists,
We lock our jaw.
Maybe we say something not so nice.
Or we go,
Ugh.
See if you can embrace it for a moment instead of trying to push it away.
Release it.
And I'm not going to just take this time to lecture you.
As a meditation teacher,
My job is to help you see the truth.
Be calm,
Find your inner peace.
But to do that,
Sometimes we just gotta let the frustration wash over us.
So be here with me.
Let it wash over you.
And instead of getting perhaps lost in the story of what's making you frustrated,
Which is probably what you've been doing.
Guilty?
I've been guilty of it 10,
000 times.
So instead of just ruminating on that,
I want you to notice the sensations.
Even right now,
Eyes open or closed.
Notice the sensations of frustration.
Might be like percolating,
Sharp.
Heavy,
Jagged.
All over your body in one particular spot,
Just notice.
Sensations.
And you might notice how much you dislike frustration.
Let's call that resistance.
So we've got two culprits here.
We've got two characters at the moment in this story.
Frustration.
And the resistance to frustration.
Her and her.
So notice that you are in resistance.
To being frustrated.
And see if you could just relax into that.
Take a deep breath into your belly.
And you're probably frustrated because you want things to be different than they are.
Somebody else's behavior,
Your behavior,
Some event or situation.
And all of that can happen in swirl.
And you could still be here in this moment.
Be witnessing that.
And see,
Fez,
You're just here with me if you can allow.
The resistance to frustration to also be here?
Can you just be compassionate towards it?
And an energy like frustration or anger,
It takes time to kind of work through the body.
Is that just going to go away the moment you want it to?
Make it happen faster,
David.
Drop your shoulders a bit.
Sometimes we're not even frustrated for the reason we think we are.
There could be something deeper.
There could be a deeper emotion as well.
There might be anger,
There might be.
.
.
Some form of sadness or grief,
Confusion.
So see if you can just let these feelings be here.
Without pushing them away.
Or trying to solve them.
And as you just sit with a presence,
With the frustration,
With the resistance,
It might actually show you something or tell you something.
I've been overworking.
I feel tired.
I'm angry at someone.
Things aren't going the way I want them to.
I wish someone would behave differently.
Whatever it is.
Some of your wrath might be pointed at you,
Or it might be pointed out at the world.
Just notice what direction it goes.
You ever see somebody who's so lost in what they're angry about?
They write a whole essay.
And then they send it by text.
Before they should.
Or put it on the internet or in an email.
So before we just send our energy out into the world,
Let's just draw our attention in.
And it's really good to anchor into the physical present moment,
So notice gravity.
Notice your body.
Notice the room that you're in.
There's likely a tree nearby.
That is not frustrated,
That is present.
There's likely animals nearby.
Living their lives.
Blades of grass.
Clouds passing in the sky.
Stars twinkling There's this huge world.
Outside of your frustration.
And when you're frustrated,
The world kind of collapses and feels very tight.
So let's just expand our awareness of the world.
Somewhere deep in some ocean,
There's a weird-looking fish with too many eyes.
There's waves crashing on a sandy beach on the other side of the world.
Somewhere in a rainforest it's raining.
Let those shoulders drop.
Notice of the resistance.
The frustration is melting off.
And then what I'd like you to do is just ask your frustration what it wants to tell you.
Again,
Eyes open or closed.
Just ask it.
What do you want to tell me?
Just notice whatever you notice.
Maybe you need to feel something or a need isn't being met.
Or you're not being seen or heard.
Notice that quiet inner calm that you have.
Even if there is a storm,
It's in there.
Notice the reality of this moment.
And this is the only place you can respond from,
Is this moment.
If this is the only place that exists.
In time is this moment.
Notice if you feel a bit better.
Underneath frustration there might be an answer and there might be some inner peace.
As odd as it might seem.
That could have been the doorway today.
Take a nice,
Big,
Deep breath in with me.
Hold it.
And then sigh out.
Have some compassion for yourself and maybe for some people around you.
Great job.
It's good to see you.
Thank you.
I'll see you soon.
