Hey friend,
Welcome back to the grounded sleep podcast.
And tonight we're going to go to sleep on purpose.
And what I mean by that is we're going to go to sleep with intention.
Usually when we fall asleep,
I don't know about you,
But sometimes for me,
It's just like let's just pass out.
I just want to fall asleep to rest.
But why not go to sleep with a clear intention and with direction.
And the direction is you're going to a very calm,
Quiet place tonight.
And you're going to come out the other side tomorrow morning refreshed,
Rested,
Clear minded and awake.
And to get there,
We're going to fall asleep on purpose.
We're going to consciously go into the unconscious.
So if you're not already,
Go ahead and get into bed and make sure that the room that you're in,
The space that you're sleeping in is really a temple for sleep.
Treat this space like a temple.
Recognize that this is a sacred time where you go off and rest.
So find a comfortable position.
Allow yourself to breathe nice and deeply.
And let's just start to unwind from the day.
Whatever you've been thinking about or trying to manage,
Right now you can just put it aside.
It's not going to get done anyway at the moment,
So just let it go.
And just surf your own breath back into your body as you breathe in.
Expand your belly.
As you exhale,
Release any tension.
And try that a couple more times,
Just surfing your breath into your body.
Relaxing that belly,
And then with that exhale,
Just releasing any tension.
Allow your shoulders to move away from your ears.
Allow your muscles,
All your muscles to relax.
And I'll repeat this again and again as you fall asleep.
Tonight as you go unconscious,
As you travel through your dreams,
As you rest,
You're going to be sleeping on purpose.
So before you completely let go and fall asleep,
Just take a moment and set an intention.
Is tonight mainly for resting?
Is it for downloading creative ideas?
Is it for healing?
Is it for reconnecting with loved ones?
Perhaps it's for exploring your dreams.
There are no boundaries on this intention.
It's about whatever feels right for you.
And the way that you can visualize setting this intention tonight is by imagining you're holding a crystal or a rock.
And as it sits in the palm of your hand,
You infuse it with the energy of your intention.
As you do that,
It may change color.
It may glow.
You may become animated with life,
With purpose.
And as you're holding this crystal,
This rock,
You notice there's a small pond in front of you.
Now it may be small,
But it's really deep.
And you reach over towards the center of it,
Holding that intention in your hand.
And then when you're ready,
Just drop it into the pond.
Notice the ripples that this intention creates.
Concentric ripples going in every direction equally.
Moving through your sleep space,
Permeating your unconscious.
After you release this intention,
You slowly start to drift off into sleep.
There's nothing left for you to do,
Except fall asleep on purpose.
The still of the night is slowly calling you,
Inviting you to let go.
And you start to drift off deeper and deeper.
Now you're waiting for your eyes to open again.
Until morning comes.
As you fall asleep,
You tell yourself how much you love to sleep,
How much you love to rest.
This is a very safe and comfortable space.
When you fall asleep on purpose,
You begin to live on purpose.
Go off into the night and rest.
When you fall asleep on purpose,
You begin to live on purpose.
When you fall asleep on purpose,
You begin to live on purpose.
When you fall asleep on purpose,
You begin to live on purpose.
