Welcome to this guided meditation.
Brought to you by Create The Calm.
Find a comfortable position.
And give yourself permission to pause for a little while.
There's nothing that you need to figure out right now.
Nothing you need to fix.
Nothing you need to force.
Just allow yourself to arrive in this moment.
If it feels comfortable.
Gently close your eyes.
Begin by noticing your breath.
There's no need to change it.
Just notice it.
Notice your inhale.
Notice your exhale.
Notice that your breath has been with you all day,
Quietly supporting you without asking for your attention.
Now begin to slow your breathing just a little.
Inhale to the count of four.
And then exhale to a count of six.
Breathing in 2,
3,
4.
And breathing out 2,
3,
4,
5,
6.
Again,
Breathing in slowly.
And breathing out completely.
With each exhale,
Allow your body to soften just a little bit more.
Let your shoulders relax.
Unclench your jaw.
Let your hands rest comfortably.
Feel the support beneath you.
Let your nervous system receive the message that,
For this moment,
You are safe enough to rest.
As your breathing settles into an easy rhythm.
Imagine yourself.
Sitting in a small boat on calm water.
The boat moves gently with the waves.
Above you is an open sky.
And around you is space.
You don't have to row.
You don't have to work.
You're simply being carried.
As you look behind you.
You can still see the shoreline you've left.
It's familiar.
It's everything you've known.
Up to this point.
The routines you've lived with,
The roles you've played,
The expectations you've carried.
The plans you thought your life would follow.
Some parts of that shoreline may bring a sense of comfort.
Other parts may be things you've been trying to leave behind for a long time.
Either way.
It's becoming more distant.
Take a slow breath in.
And a slow breath out.
Maybe this feels familiar.
Maybe there's something in your own life that's changing right now.
Maybe you're letting go of a relationship,
A job,
A dream.
And identity.
A way of living.
Or simply an old version of yourself.
Maybe life is rearranging itself in ways you didn't expect.
Whatever your experience is,
Allow yourself to acknowledge it without needing to judge it or explain it.
Now look ahead.
You notice that you can't see the next shoreline yet.
You don't know exactly where you're headed.
The future isn't clear.
The answers aren't all there.
And if you're honest,
That can feel uncomfortable.
Most of us feel better when we know what's next.
We like plans.
We like certainty.
We like knowing where we're going and how we're going to get there.
So when life brings us into a season where the old is falling away,
And the new hasn't arrived yet.
It's easy to feel unsettled.
Take a moment to notice what comes up for you as you sit in that space.
Maybe there's uncertainty.
Maybe there's fear.
Maybe there's hope.
Maybe there's grief.
Maybe there are several feelings all at once.
Whatever is here is welcome.
For the next few moments.
Stop looking for answers.
Stop trying to see around the bend.
Stop trying to figure out what happens next.
Instead.
Bring your attention back to yourself.
Notice the boat beneath you.
Notice the water holding it up.
Notice your breath moving in and out.
In and out.
Notice that even though you don't know exactly where you're going,
You are still here.
And as you sit quietly for a moment,
You may begin to realize something.
So much around you may be changing.
Some things are already behind you and you still can't clearly see what comes next.
It can feel like the ground is shifting while you're still trying to find your footing.
And yet,
Through every season of your life,
There's been something in you that has remained.
Think back to yourself five years ago.
Maybe even 20 years ago.
Your circumstances were different.
The people around you were different.
Your hopes,
Your fears,
Your challenges,
And your plans may all have been different too.
But there's something that has been present through all of it.
A quiet awareness.
A deeper part of you that has witnessed every chapter.
The part of you that has survived difficult seasons before.
The part of you that kept going when you didn't know how things would work out.
That part of you is still here now.
Take a slow breath in.
And as you exhale,
Silently repeat to yourself.
I remain myself.
Even as life changes around me.
Allow those words to settle.
And then repeat.
I can trust what's real within me.
Take another slow breath.
I don't need all the answers to stay grounded.
Breathing in.
.
.
And out.
I'm allowed to be in the middle of the journey.
Another slow breath.
What is true within me remains.
And finally.
.
.
I can trust myself even when I don't know what comes next.
Rest with those words for a few moments.
Imagine the boat continuing to move across the water.
You don't have to make the journey happen.
It's already happening.
It may not feel clear right now,
But that doesn't mean nothing is changing.
Life often moves beneath the surface long before we can see where it's headed.
Seeds grow underground before they break the soil.
Dawn begins before the sun appears above the horizon.
Sometimes we leave something familiar before we can see what we're headed towards.
Take another deep breath in.
And let it go.
Breathing in calm.
And breathing out tension.
Breathing in trust.
Breathing out the need to have everything figured out.
One more slow breath.
Inhale.
And exhale.
As we come to the end of this meditation,
Remember.
Uncertainty isn't the same as being lost.
Not knowing what comes next doesn't mean you're on the wrong path.
Sometimes life unfolds one step at a time.
Sometimes clarity arrives after we've already begun moving forward.
And sometimes,
The most important thing we can do is stay connected to ourselves while everything around us is changing.
You don't have to know what comes next in order to trust yourself.
You don't have to have all the answers in order to move forward.
And you don't have to become someone else in order to be enough.
Take a final deep breath in.
And slowly exhale.
Begin bringing your awareness back to the room.
Notice the surface supporting you.
Notice the sounds around you.
Gently wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Allow your breathing to return to its natural rhythm.
And when you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Thank you for sharing this time with me.
Until next time.
Be gentle with yourself.
