Before I say anything else,
Hear this,
You're going to be okay,
I know your mind may feel loud right now,
Thoughts moving quickly,
Trying to solve everything at once,
And perhaps your chest feels tight,
As if your body is bracing for something,
But pause here with me,
Take a slow breath in through the nose,
And a gentle breath out through the mouth,
Again slow breath in through the nose,
And a longer breath out through the mouth,
Good,
Now let your breath continue,
Breathing in slowly,
Breathing out even slower,
Allow those breaths to anchor you,
Because when the mind becomes overwhelmed,
The breath often becomes restless too,
Short,
Uneven,
Erratic,
And when the breath moves like that,
It can feel as though you're a small boat on a restless sea,
The wind pushing you this way and that,
No rudder,
No direction,
Just drifting everywhere the storm decides,
But there is something important to remember,
You are not the storm,
You are not the sea,
You are the one holding the rudder,
Your breath,
So breathe again,
Slow breath in,
And gentle breath out,
Notice how the breath begins to settle when you guide it with intention,
And as the breath steadies,
Your mind will quickly follow,
Many of the things your mind worries about exist only in your imagination,
Yet the body carries them as if they're already real,
So ground yourself at any time by watching the breath,
This breath entering your lungs,
This breath leaving them,
You're still here,
Still breathing,
Still standing in your life,
And that alone is strength,
There are many things in life we cannot control,
The past,
The future,
The outcomes we hope for,
But there is always one place where your power remains,
Your response to this moment,
And the breath that guides it,
Peace often begins the moment we stop fighting everything outside our control,
And instead return to the quiet strength within us,
So breathe again,
Slow breath in,
And release,
Let your shoulders soften,
Let your jaw unclench,
Let your body remember something simple,
You're safe in this moment,
Still breathing,
Still moving forward,
What you're feeling right now is not weakness,
It is simply the weight of caring deeply about your life,
And caring deeply is not a flaw,
It's part of being human,
Even this moment of uncertainty is shaping strength within you,
Difficult moments often become the ones that quietly build resilience,
So breathe again,
Slowly,
Steadily,
Let the breath anchor you,
Like your hand moving the rudder,
The sea may still move,
Life will always have its waves,
But when your breath is steady,
You are no longer drifting,
You are guiding yourself forward,
And whenever life begins to feel overwhelming,
Remember this,
If the breath becomes rushed and erratic,
The mind will follow it into the storm,
But when you slow the breath,
You steady the ship,
You reclaim control,
And you return to yourself,
So take one final slow breath in,
And gently let it go,
Carry this into the rest of your day,
That whenever the mind becomes loud,
Whenever the sea feels rough,
Simply come back to your breath,
And follow the next inhale home,
Use it to reconnect with yourself,
To feel what needs to be felt,
And return yourself to the present,
Let it steady you,
Let it balance you,
Let it help you release what you no longer need to carry,
Because when the breath becomes calm,
The mind begins to calm with it,
The storm may still be moving around you,
Life will always have its waves,
But when you return to your breath,
You become the eye of the storm,
Still,
Steady,
Grounded,
And know that you're going to be okay,
That you are okay.
Namaste.
