Hello.
I'm really glad that you're here.
When you feel unsafe.
There are moments when your body feels on high alert.
When your chest tightens,
Your mind races,
And you feel unsafe.
First,
Know this.
Your nervous system is doing its job.
It's protecting you,
Even if nothing around you is actually dangerous.
It's remembering,
Guarding,
Trying to keep you safe.
Take a breath.
Place a hand on your heart if it feels right.
Feel the steady rhythm of your body.
A reminder that you're still here.
You are not weak because you feel unsafe.
You are not broken because your body is alert.
You are simply human.
And right now,
It is okay to be here.
Say softly to yourself,
Thank you body for trying to protect me.
I am safe enough right now.
Look around for one thing that feels steady.
A colour,
A sound,
A texture.
Anything that reminds you the world is still here,
And so are you.
You don't have to be fearless.
You just need to stay present with yourself,
To breathe,
To come home to this moment again and again.
