Hello there,
Welcome.
This is a really short practice to wake up your breath.
Settling in,
Arriving,
Allowing your body to be in any shape that feels really friendly and steady.
Wherever you are,
Seeing if you can sink a little deeper into the support that is holding you,
That is receiving the weight of your body.
And how do you know that right in this moment your body is breathing?
What is it that captures your attention?
Maybe this morning your breath is feeling a little shy and protective.
It's a little more tricky to notice.
There's the possibility of noticing the sound,
The song of your breath.
Or perhaps there's a place that you can see or sense that is moving and expanding on your breath in and softening as you breathe out,
Meeting your natural breath exactly as it is.
And when you feel ready,
Let's begin to wake up the breath,
Gently tapping over the chest,
The sternum,
The collarbones.
You might choose to tap with the knuckles or the fingertips,
Maybe the side of the hand,
Using one hand or both.
Beginning to tap in any rhythm,
Any pace.
You choose the pressure.
Letting your awareness rest on the sensations that you are creating,
The vibration.
Let's practice loosening up any congestion in your lungs,
Finding your own rhythm,
Cadence,
Maybe exploring a tapping with a little more vibrancy,
A little more energy.
There is also the option of breathing in gently through the nose and releasing an out-breath,
Maybe with a sigh as you tap,
Maybe hearing that vibration,
That hum.
Letting your hands or fingertips,
The knuckles,
To tap all across the chest,
The front body.
Allowing some releasing longer exhalations through an open mouth.
And whenever your body says that's enough,
It could be now or in a few moments,
Letting your hands rest anywhere that feels natural and easeful.
What do you notice?
An aliveness in your chest.
How do you know that you are breathing,
That your body is breathing in this moment?
What is most noticeable about your breath?
Sensing into that expansion of the chest,
Broadening across the collarbones.
The option of taking one last breath in and out together with me.
Gentle breath in,
Releasing breath out.
And as you begin to move into the rest of this day,
The possibility of turning up the corners of your mouth,
Bringing the hands to meet the front of your body,
Gesturing in towards yourself.
I hope that your morning and your day ahead is spacious,
Open and alive,
Just like your breath.
