So I'm so glad you've chosen to pause with me today.
Life sometimes has a way of carrying us along.
One moment blends into the next.
Our thoughts,
They race ahead.
And our bodies they continue moving.
Before you know it,
You've traveled through much of the day without truly arriving in it.
Yet,
There is one quiet companion that has been with you through every joy.
Every challenge.
And every moment.
And that is your breath.
We often think of breathing as something that simply keeps us alive.
But each conscious breath you take offers us something else.
It's a chance to begin again.
Research has shown that slowing your breath can really help to settle your body.
Reduce feelings of stress and gently bring your attention back to this present moment.
And your breath has never asked you to be perfect or to solve every problem.
But your breath it simply invites you back.
One breath at a time.
So move into a space of comfort.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Your body,
Release.
Take a slow,
Comfortable breath in.
And gently breathe out.
Letting go of any stress or tension.
Nothing forced,
Just breathing as you are.
As you breathe in,
Just notice the coolness of the air.
And notice the warmth as you gently breathe out.
Breathe in.
Feel your chest rising,
Your abdomen is gently expanding.
And breathe out.
Releasing and relaxing into the moment.
Take another slow breath in.
And silently say to yourself here.
And as you gently breathe out.
Now.
And again,
Breathing in.
Here.
And breathing out.
Now.
Just continue breathing softly.
Noticing the flow of your breath.
Flowing in.
And flowing out.
You are becoming conscious of your breath.
Conscious of this breath.
Conscious of this moment.
So,
As you continue with your day,
Remember that your breath is always with you and always has been.
To whenever your life feels hurried.
Or whenever your mind feels full.
Whenever you feel the need for a moment of calm.
Pause for a moment and take one gentle breath.
Living in.
And gently flowing out.
May be surprised at how much can change in the space of a single conscious breath.
