Welcome.
This is a gentle.
Short body awareness practice for deep rest.
It's a time to soften.
To pause.
And to come home to yourself.
So,
Just begin by finding your comfy space,
Warm and cozy.
You may be lying down or seated comfortably.
Allow your hands to rest wherever they feel most natural.
Gently close your eyes.
And take a slow,
Deep breath in.
And a gentle breath out,
Letting go of any stress or tension.
This is your time.
To listen to your body with kindness.
So just begin by noticing the contact beneath you.
Those places where your body is supported.
The back of your body.
Your legs,
Your feet just let the surface beneath you hold you because you do not have to hold everything yourself.
Take another soft breath in.
As you breathe out,
Allow your shoulders to just drop a little.
Breathe in.
Breathe out,
Feeling your jaw soften.
Breathe in.
Slowly breathe out.
Just letting your eyelids rest over your eyes.
Breathe in.
.
.
As you breathe out just bring your awareness to the top of your head.
And just resume your natural breathing pattern now.
Gently flowing in.
Gently flowing out.
Allow your attention now to gently travel across your forehead.
Around your eyes.
Your cheeks.
Your mouth.
Your jaw.
If you notice any tension there.
Just imagine breathing around it.
Creating space.
Creating softness.
Creating ease.
Now bring your awareness to your neck and shoulders.
Those places that often carry so much.
And rather than asking them to relax,
Simply offer them your attention.
Your kind presence.
It's as though you are saying I'm here with you.
So just let your shoulders feel heavy.
They are producing.
Let your arms soften,
Your upper arms and elbows.
Your forearms and your wrists,
Your hands and your fingers.
As you bring your awareness to these areas,
Just notice any warmth,
Coolness.
Heaviness or stillness.
If you feel very little,
That's perfectly okay too.
Because awareness itself is enough.
So bring your attention to your chest now.
The gentle rise and fall of your breath.
You do not need to breathe in any special way.
But just notice your body breathing.
Belly expanding.
And as you breathe out,
Flowing back towards your spine.
You are receiving,
Releasing.
Receiving.
Releasing.
Perceiving.
Releasing and letting go.
Now let your heart area be held in tenderness.
Breathe into your heart for a moment.
Feel the tenderness there.
The warmth.
The love that is held there.
And now bring your awareness to your belly.
Feel your body softening.
Letting go of any stress or tension that's held there in your belly.
Giving space to all your internal organs.
Breathe deep into this area.
And release slowly and gently.
Maybe you notice movement with your breath.
Or maybe you are noticing stillness.
Just let your belly soften as much as it needs to.
No holding here.
Just space and spaciousness.
Now bring your awareness to the back of your body.
Pierre-Papa the middle back.
And your lower back.
Feel your spine.
Each vertebrae.
Beginning to release.
To let go.
Too soft.
Travel down your vertebrae one at a time,
Flowing down your spine.
Renewing.
Re-energizing.
Your spine and the whole of your body.
Just feel how much of support your back gives you.
And with each exhale.
Allow yourself to settle a little more deeply.
Wonderful.
Now gently bring your awareness to your hips and pelvis.
Feel the weight of your body.
Quiet strength right here.
And let your hips be heavy.
Let your legs release.
Your thighs,
Your knees,
Your calves.
Your ankles,
Your feet.
And all the way to your toes.
Your whole lower body is softening into support.
You are so relaxed right now.
Just feel into that relaxation.
Allow your body to soften even more.
And now feel your body as a whole.
From the crown of your head.
To the tips of your fingers.
To the soles of your feet.
One whole body that is breathing.
Resting.
The end.
And for these few moments,
You are allowed to rest.
And now silently say to yourself.
I soften into this moment.
My body is allowed to rest.
I am safe to pause.
Let those words settle gently throughout your body.
You are now simply resting in awareness.
Breathing in.
And softly breathing out.
You are held by the earth.
Held by this very moment.
Held by your own kind self-care.
Beautiful Take a moment to just notice how your body feels in this relaxed state.
Good.
Now when you're ready,
Just begin to notice the space around you.
The sounds that are nearby.
And just give your shoulders a gentle roll.
Give yourself a stretch.
Take a deep breath in.
And a slow breath out.
And as you gently return,
May you carry this softness with you.
This is your reminder that rest is not something you have to earn.
It is really something your body already knows how to receive.
So thank you for joining me on this gentle awareness practice.
Namaste,
My friend.
