Hello,
This meditation is called What You Are Has Never Suffered.
There can be a habit recognised here,
So subtle,
It's almost unseen,
Of holding experience as if it belongs to a someone,
As if there is a me,
An identity inside what is being felt,
And with that a kind of a weight appears,
A sense of something being carried,
A burden.
So for these few moments together,
There is no effort required,
There is no understanding needed.
This is just a simple invitation to notice what is already happening before anything is claimed or labelled.
Now,
Let the body fully relax,
Be comfortable where you sit,
And begin becoming aware of the breath,
Not controlling it,
Not shaping it,
Just noticing that breathing is effortlessly happening on its own with no thought.
And as the breathing continues,
The body relaxes even further,
Without effort,
Without intention,
Just a quiet,
Easy unwinding.
And in this simple resting,
You might begin to notice that experience is already happening,
Known,
Sensations in the body,
Sounds,
Subtle movements of thought,
All of it arising by itself.
Nothing here needs to be organised,
Nothing needs to be managed.
And as part of this experience,
There can be a feeling,
A sense of something in the body that is not fully relaxed,
Something that may feel perhaps tense or uncertain.
With an awareness of,
This is happening to me,
And that feeling can seem very real,
Immediate,
Sensitive,
But just for this moment,
Quietly noticing,
Are these feelings,
These movements of thought,
Actually who you are,
Or are they simply being felt,
Witnessed,
Appearing like everything else in their own way,
A sensation,
Perhaps a feeling in the chest or in the stomach,
A movement of energy in the body,
A pattern of thought,
Of an emotion,
All felt,
All known,
Without needing to push,
To adjust,
All is as it is,
No need to change what is.
A knowing to remain in the flow and ease of all that appears.
With no forcing,
No wanting,
There is a gentle allowing for everything to be here,
Present.
Fully felt,
But not owned,
Not by anyone,
Not mine,
Nor me,
Just sensation,
Just experience arising,
Present,
Immediate,
Spontaneous,
Like a sound,
Like a breath,
Like a touch.
And as these are noticed,
Something begins to awaken.
What is aware of these sensations?
These movements?
What is aware of the feeling of perhaps tightness,
Is not itself tightness,
It is simply openly aware,
Unchanged,
Unmoved,
By all experiencing.
And this awareness,
Here and now,
Is not distant,
Not separate.
It is what you are,
Already here,
Already present,
In each moment,
Before any story can develop.
And within this,
Everything is allowed to be.
Even discomfort,
Tension,
Perhaps resistance,
Even the sense of I want to be happy,
That too is just another appearance.
Quietly seen,
Gently held,
Known,
Without needing to rearrange,
Move,
Or adjust.
And so,
Letting go is not something you do.
It is a presence that remains when nothing is held,
Without nothing being claimed,
When nothing is being made personal.
And in this,
There is a quiet,
Peaceful ease.
Not because everything is perfect,
But because nothing is being resisted,
Nothing is being carried.
The body continues to breathe,
Sensations come and go,
Thoughts appear and fade.
But what you are remains still,
Open,
Untouched,
Spacious,
Impersonal.
And as everything continues to move,
Breath,
Sensation,
Thought,
Experience,
Just as it always has,
There can be a quiet noticing that nothing here is being carried,
Claimed,
Labeled,
Or held.
Nothing here belongs to a someone.
And what you are has never been touched by what is felt,
Seen,
Or heard,
In any experience.
Now,
Bringing your awareness back to the body,
To the natural rhythm of your breathing,
To the space around you.
And when you are ready,
Gently open the eyes.
Not leaving this new awareness,
But simply noticing that what you are was never what suffered,
And never could be,
As you are not the body and mind.
They are both appearances within that which knows.
Blessings to you.
