My name is Jamie and welcome to a slice of my living room in Michigan.
I live in the upper peninsula of Michigan and today we're taking a quick breath break.
Get comfortable.
You can take a seat or lie down,
Whichever one feels right for you today.
And we're going to practice cleansing breath.
In through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
Nice and slow,
Controlled,
Simple,
With attention to pain.
The sensations in your body.
So take a seat or lie down,
My friends.
It's just gonna take a few moments of your time.
And in return,
You'll get a nice little energy reset to go on with the rest of your day.
So wherever you are,
Nice and cozy,
Of course.
Unclench the jaw.
Drop the tongue at the bottom of the mouth.
Soften your cheeks.
And the space between your eyebrows.
Drop them shoulders down even more.
And just notice how you feel for just a moment.
Breathing normally,
Maybe wiggling your fingers,
Wiggling your toes.
Maybe circling your wrist or circling your ankle or maybe even circling your neck a little bit.
Nice and chill.
And release.
We're going to go in through the nose,
Nice and slow and gentle.
Fill up that belly and chest as much as comfortable,
Then exhale it out.
Open the mouth,
Exhale it out.
As we do this,
Notice your belly contracting.
Inhale through the nose.
Notice the belly expand.
Exhale,
Let the day out,
My friends.
Inhale through the nose nice and slow.
Exhale even longer,
But control that exhale.
Few more times,
Unclench the jaw,
Drop the shoulders down even more,
Inhale through the nose.
Exhale it out.
If you have a lot of tension stored in the body today,
Exhale out really nice and loud.
Never be embarrassed as to how loud your breath is.
Just keep breathing and notice these sensations.
A few more times,
Slow inhale through the nose.
Exhale it out.
Breathing into the belly,
Inhale.
Exhale.
Few more times.
As we do this,
I'd like to repeat to yourself,
I got this.
I got this.
Whatever you're doing,
Working on,
I got this.
Even when it feels hard,
Especially when it feels hard and impossible,
Repeat to yourself,
I got this.
If that feels safe for you.
If it doesn't feel safe for you,
Repeat to yourself,
I am safe and keep breathing,
My friends.
Inhale through the nose.
Exhale it out.
I got this.
A few more,
Inhale.
Exhale,
Release.
I got this.
Three more times,
My friend.
Inhale nice and slow.
Fill up that belly and chest,
Be loud about it,
Let it go.
Gentle inhale through the nose.
Let it out,
Push that air out.
I got this.
Seal that with a smile.
Once more,
Inhale.
Exhale it out,
I got this.
Whatever you're working on,
It's gonna work out,
My friends.
I got this.
Let's take three more breaths in silence.
Unclench the jaw,
Drop the shoulders down.
One more,
Nice and big.
Take the deepest breath you've taken yet.
Let it out.
Let's take one more breath for good measure.
For reals this time,
Take the biggest breath you've taken yet so far.
The loudest exhale.
Release the day,
Release the tension,
Release the annoyance for just a few moments,
My friend.
Come back to this practice whenever you need a little boost of,
I know I can get through this.
