Welcome.
Thank you for joining and creating space in your day to cultivate some present moment awareness by way of our breath.
As we get ready to begin our meditation,
We'll use our prana,
Life force,
To calm the mind's chatter and welcome the simple beauty of the present moment.
Allow yourself to get comfortable in your seat.
Begin to gently close your eyes and take a few deep,
Long breaths in and out.
Once you're comfortable,
Rest your hands gently on your belly without manipulating the breath and allow yourself to become aware of it.
Notice your inhales,
How they rise from the belly into your chest,
Entering your nostrils and sinking deeper down into your lungs.
And just the same,
Notice your exhales,
How they gently pour out of your lungs,
Through the nostrils,
Out into the space around us,
Outside of us.
Bring your attention to your hands on your belly and notice if you can feel the small rise and fall of your breath.
This life force that lives inside of us is like the ocean.
Our inhales and exhales are but waves out at sea,
Never ending and always cycling through.
Become aware of your inner ocean ever so deeply.
It is always right here,
Never ending and always cycling through.
The present moment is here in these waves of your breath,
Settling you down into your seat with comfort,
Ease and gratitude.
Continue following your breath.
Dive deeper into the details of your breathing.
How does the breath feel when it enters through the nose?
Can you taste it?
Can you feel it come over the tip of your lip?
And what sensations can you feel as the air exits your nose?
As it gently glides over the tip of your lip,
Can you feel its coolness?
Become your own observer in deep and silent awe of this simple act of breathing.
In it,
Such mystery,
Curiosity and gratitude,
Above all else,
Gratitude.
Gently take a deep breath in to fill the lungs.
And let that breath go on an exhale.
Bring your attention to your hands resting on your belly.
And with your eyes closed,
Bring those hands up to heart center,
Palms touching in a silent blessing.
Tuck your chin gently down to your chest,
Honoring not just your own heart,
But this prana that lives inside of you,
This life force,
As well as the present.
And welcome this moment.
When you're ready,
Begin to gently open your eyes.
May you walk into your day with ease.
May your breath carry you through every single moment as you become aware of the presence around you.
May your breath be a gift and may you return to it consciously aware every day.
Thank you for joining today.
