Welcome.
Thank you for joining and creating space in your day to cultivate some stillness and silence.
As we get ready to begin our meditation,
We'll focus on grounding the body,
Quieting the noise in our mind,
And allowing the softness of stillness to bring us back to peace.
Begin by making yourself comfortable in your seat,
With your spine long and steady.
Feel free to prop yourself up if you need to,
Or make any adjustments to ease your comfort.
Allow your hands to rest effortlessly in your lap or on your knees,
With the palms facing down for a little more grounding.
And if you haven't already done so,
Begin to gently close your eyes and find your breath.
Take a few long,
Deep breaths in and let them go.
Start to bring your attention to your sitting bones,
And with each exhale,
Allow them to sink and become heavy.
Visualize your breath swimming down into your legs,
Ankles,
And feet,
And allow them to sink and become heavy.
We are grounded into this earth,
Deep into the marrow of it,
Because we belong right here where we are.
Like a mighty tree in the forest,
We are swayed by the breeze of our breath,
But we are never uprooted nor caught in the storm untethered.
Begin to feel your roots pulling you deeper as your breath continues to rise and fall.
Slide triedโฆ As thoughts begin to make themselves known,
Reaching out for your attention,
See them acknowledge that they're there,
That they exist,
And then take a deep breath in and let them go on an exhale,
One by one.
What previously might have led you to take a stand against your busy mind?
Allow this space and exercise to ease that stand and make it soft.
As you exhale each thought into the clouds,
Notice the pause between that space.
This is where life is renewed,
Where the glimpse of stillness and silence melt and marry.
And breathe into that space and welcome yourself.
And before ending,
May God bless you.
Gently lift your left hand and place it on your heart.
Deep in the stillness of your breath,
Feel the small ebb and flow of the energy within you.
Like a wave out at sea,
Your breath pulses without effort,
Without guidance,
Without hesitation.
Between each pulse and heartbeat,
There lies that same space,
That same field of light and renewal.
Settle into this space each time it comes around and sink deeper until there is nothing left but breath.
Gently take a deep breath in and let it go.
Lift your right hand and place it on top of your left,
Sealing your peace within.
When we root into the earth to which we belong,
We can breathe a little more fully.
And when we acknowledge that we are thinking,
Creating,
Inspiring human beings,
We can find a little more space in which to honor that which makes us whole.
Gently tuck your chin as you bow down to your own heart,
Your greatest teacher,
In silent gratitude.
When you're ready,
Begin to gently open your eyes and walk into your day with ease.
Thank you so much for joining today.
