So many of our daily stress lives in our physical body (muscle tension, cramps, pains, and aches). But stress penetrates deeper into our emotional body, as well. We call this the "subtle body," and it's where we keep our anger, sadness, fear, grief, and the like. This Simple Stress Relief meditation works with conscious breathing to dig deeper into those stressed-out corners and relieve them of unnecessary weight and worry.

Welcome.

Thank you for joining and creating space in your day to recognize the stress in your life and consciously commit to releasing it.

As we get ready to begin our meditation,

We'll use our breath to wash away the stressors we know live on our physical and subtle emotional body.

Begin in a seated position with the feet either crossed in some comfortable fashion or planted down on the ground if you are in a chair.

Allow yourself to get comfortable in your seat,

Propping yourself up if you need to.

When you're ready,

Begin to gently close your eyes and take a few deep,

Long breaths in and out.

Start to feel the heaviness of your physical body as the sitting bones sink down effortlessly in your seat,

As the belly begins to soften with each breath in and out.

As the shoulders begin to sink down the back,

Softening where once there was tension,

And as the facial lines begin to ease,

Relaxing through the jaw and the forehead.

Tune back into your breath to see how it has shifted to one of more expansive length and depth.

As we continue to breathe in and out,

We're going to use our breath to essentially wash away the stressors that live on our body.

These stressors could be causing us physical discomfort,

Such as tension in the muscles,

Or they could be affecting us on a deeper emotional level,

Keeping us distant from what makes us feel light,

Joyful,

And carefree.

We'll use the breath as a tool to sweep through this debris and make space for that light to come in once again.

Begin to tune into your physical body first,

A bit deeper past the superficial awareness of your breath,

Like a diver swimming deeper.

Visualize yourself tuning deeper into your body right here.

Bring your awareness to your sitting bones first.

Pause and notice any sensations that may arise.

Take a little scan,

If you will,

Of how you feel physically there without judgment or criticism or future thinking.

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

Like a wave washing the shore,

Your breath is cleansing away what no longer serves you.

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

Bringing your awareness to your pelvis and low back next,

Pause and notice any sensations that may arise here.

Take a little scan of how you feel physically there without judgment or criticism or future thinking.

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

Allow the breath to wash away what no longer serves you here.

Bringing your awareness to your belly,

Pause and notice any sensations here.

Scan this part of your body.

How do you physically feel here?

Is there anything you can let go of here?

And when you're ready,

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out,

Cleansing this space.

Bringing your awareness to your heart center,

Pause and notice any sensations here without rushing to fix or justify or manipulate.

Become aware of stressors that may live here.

And when you're ready,

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

Imagine that through each exhale,

Pieces of heaviness,

Tension and stress are exiting the body,

Retreating like waves at sea.

In this new space,

We create intentions to bring in what will lift us up.

Bringing your awareness to your throat,

Pause and notice any sensations that may arise.

Take a scan,

Noting any physical feelings in this area cascading down into your shoulders and back of the neck as well.

Notice if there are any feelings that may be stuck here.

And when you're ready,

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out,

Releasing.

Bringing your awareness to your third eye,

The space between your eyebrows and deep into the center of your head.

Pause and notice any sensations that arise physically.

Become aware of any thoughts that are too heavy,

Memories that are too dark,

Or triggers that are too reactive.

Allow any and all emotions to well up and surface.

And when you're ready,

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

Continue the breath until you feel this space is cleansed,

Cleared and open,

Trusting that all that you let go of is no longer a part of your journey.

Bringing your awareness to the crown of your head,

Pause and take note of your sensations,

Whether they are physical,

Emotional,

Or mental.

Allow any and all emotions or thoughts to well up and surface.

And when you're ready,

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

Imagine what you're releasing,

Leaving through the crown of your head,

Out into the space outside of us.

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out with your entire body rising from your feet to the crown of your head.

With breath,

Fill these spaces with a bright white light as it swims through every corner of your being.

Trust that this light is filling you with what you need to embrace anything coming your way today.

When you're ready,

Begin to gently open your eyes.

May you walk into your day with peace and positivity.

Thank you for joining.
