Hello,
My sweet listener.
Welcome to Storytime with Nana Jojo.
I'm so happy you're here.
I'm Nana Jojo,
And I have another wonderful story to share with you today.
But first,
Let's get cozy.
Grab your favorite stuffie.
Make sure you've got a soft blanket.
And snuggle in.
Now let's take some slow,
Deep breaths together.
When we breathe slowly,
Our bodies feel calm and relaxed.
Take a big breath in through your nose.
And breathe out with a happy sigh like this.
Hmmmm.
.
.
Let's do that again.
Big breath in.
And breathe out.
Ahhhhhhh.
One more time.
Big breath in.
And breathe out.
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Super duper job.
Do you feel nice and relaxed?
Yay,
I do too!
Okay my sweet little one,
It's time for our story.
This is another story about Luna the Little Star.
The kind and caring star who loves to help children from way up in the night sky.
In today's story.
Luna helps her friend drizzle the rain cloud.
Drizzle made a mistake.
And he's having a very hard time telling the truth about it.
Let's see if Luna can help.
Are you ready?
Okay,
Let's begin.
Once upon a time,
High up in the night sky,
There lived a little star named Luna.
Every night,
Luna shined her soft,
Gentle light through bedroom windows,
Helping children feel safe as they fell asleep.
Luna loved her job.
One evening,
Luna was twinkling happily when she saw her friend Drizzle the Cloud drifting by.
Luna noticed that Drizzle looked worried.
What's wrong,
Drizzle?
Luna asks,
Drizzle floated closer to Luna.
His gray edges were sad and drooping.
I made a mistake,
Luna.
A big mistake.
And I'm not sure what to do.
Tell me what happened,
Luna said gently.
Drizzle side.
And a tiny drip of rain fell from his bottom.
You know the morning meadow where all the beautiful flowers grow?
This afternoon I was floating over it when I saw a butterfly.
I chased after the butterfly,
And I wasn't watching where I was going.
And then I bumped right into Zephyr the wind.
We crashed into each other and I accidentally rained all over the whole meadow.
Oh my,
Said Luna.
But isn't rain good for flowers?
Not this much rain,
Drizzle said sadly.
I rained so hard that I made big puddles everywhere.
Now the fairy's garden party tonight might be ruined.
All the fireflies were supposed to dance there.
And the field mice were going to have their picnic under the moonlight.
Oh.
That does sound like a problem,
Luna said.
But mistakes happen.
What are you going to do,
Drizzle?
Drizzle shifted uncomfortably.
Well.
.
.
That's the thing.
No one saw me do it.
Everyone thinks it was the storm clouds that passed through earlier.
They're always raining on things.
I could just not say anything.
Then no one would be upset with me.
Luna's light flickered with concern.
She loved her friend Drizzle.
But she knew this wasn't right.
Drizzle How do you feel about keeping this secret?
Luna asks.
.
.
Dressel was quiet for a moment.
Honestly,
I feel heavy and gray,
Even grayer than usual.
My raindrops feel heavier,
Too.
And I keep worrying that someone will find out,
And then they'll be even more upset that I didn't tell the truth.
That's because hiding the truth is like having a big,
Heavy rain cloud right inside your heart.
Luna said gently.
It gets heavier and heavier.
But when you're honest and tell the truth,
Even when it's hard,
That heavy feeling goes away.
But what if Meadow Fairy is angry with me?
Drizzle said.
What if everyone thinks I'm a bad cloud?
Luna twinkled warmly.
Real friends care more about honesty than about mistakes,
Drizzle.
Everyone makes mistakes,
But being honest shows that you're brave and that you care about making things right.
That's what makes someone trustworthy.
Drizzle thought about Luna's words.
Deep down,
He knew she was right.
The heavy,
Uncomfortable feeling inside him was there because he was hiding the truth.
You're right,
Drizzle said.
I need to tell the metal fairy what really happened.
Will you come with me?
Of course,
Luna said.
That's what friends are for.
Together,
Luna and Drizzle made their way to the morning meadow.
And sure enough.
There was the metal fairy looking at all the puddles with a very worried face.
The fireflies hovered nearby,
Not sure what to do.
And the poor little field mice looked sadly at their soggy,
Wet picnic blankets.
Drizzle took a deep breath.
Excuse me,
He called out nervously.
Meadow Fairy,
There's something I need to tell you.
The meadow fairy looked up at Drizzle.
Drizzle took a deep breath.
The puddles in your meadow,
They're my fault.
His voice was quiet,
But steady.
I bumped into Zephyr by accident.
I wasn't paying attention.
I rained too hard and I made a big mess.
I'm really,
Really sorry.
The words tumbled out and the heavy feeling inside Drizzle's heart began to lift away.
The meadow fairy was very quiet.
One second.
Two seconds.
Three seconds.
Drizzle held his breath.
Sure she would be angry.
But then,
Something surprising happened.
The meadow fairy smile.
Thank you for telling me the truth,
Drizzle.
That took real courage.
Drizzle blank.
You're not angry?
Well,
I am a little disappointed about the puddles.
The meadow fairy looked at Drizzle warmly.
But I am very,
Very proud of you for telling the truth.
Everyone makes mistakes,
Drizzle.
Everyone.
What matters is that you are honest and that you want to make things right.
I do,
I really,
Really do,
But I don't know how.
Drizzle said.
Suddenly,
Luna twinkled.
She had an idea.
Drizzle.
You're a cloud.
Could you use your wind to blow the water away from the party area?
And we could dance right on the puddles,
Chimed in one of the fireflies.
Our lights would reflect in the water and make everything twice as sparkly.
Oh,
Oh,
Squeaked a little field mouse jumping up and down.
We could move our picnic to the dry hill nearby.
The view of the stars up there is even more beautiful.
The metal fairy clapped her tiny hands together with delight.
What wonderful ideas!
Drizzle,
If you could help blow some of the water away,
We can turn this into an even more magical evening than we planned.
And something wonderful happened to Drizzle just then.
He felt lighter than air.
And not just because he was a cloud.
That heavy,
Uncomfortable feeling was completely gone.
All of it.
By being honest,
He had made things better,
Not worse.
For the rest of the evening,
Drizzle worked very hard to help.
And he did a wonderful job.
He gently and carefully blew the extra water toward the flowers at the edge of the meadow.
And Luna shined her light so the fireflies could dance on the puddles.
And oh,
What a wonderful sight it was.
Their reflections created double the sparkle.
And twice the magic.
And the little field mice had the most wonderful picnic on the hill under the most beautiful view of the stars they had ever seen.
At the end of the night,
The meadow fairy looked at Drizzle warmly and said,
Drizzle,
Thank you.
Thank you for being honest and for helping to make things right.
She smiled her softest and warmest smile.
Everyone makes mistakes,
But not everyone is brave enough to tell the truth about them.
And that That is what makes you a very,
Very good friend.
Drizzle beamed and slowly turned a happy glowing shade of silver gray.
Luna taught me something really important,
He said.
Being honest is like letting the light shine through.
It's always the right choice,
Even when it's really,
Really hard.
Luna twinkled with pride.
Her light was warm and bright.
And now you know something else too,
She said gently.
Being honest doesn't just help others trust you.
It makes your own heart feel lighter.
Just like yours did tonight.
As the party came to an end,
The stars twinkled softly overhead.
Drizzle floated right beside Luna,
Feeling peaceful and happy and wonderfully light.
He had learned something really important tonight.
Honesty isn't just about telling the truth.
It's about being brave enough to make things right,
Even when it feels hard and scary.
And that feeling,
That light,
Happy feeling.
It was so much better than carrying around a heavy secret.
So much better.
The End.
And so my sweet listener,
As our story comes to an end,
Here's something important to remember.
Being honest is always the right choice,
Even when it feels really scary.
When we tell the truth,
Our hearts feel light and free,
And the people we love know they can trust us.
And when you choose to be honest,
You're being brave just like Drizzle was.
Most of all,
Remember this.
You are loved,
You are special,
And Nana Jojo loves you so very much.
I'll be right here for you when you're ready for another story.
If it's time for you to sleep now,
I'm wishing you happy and sweet dreams.
Sleep tight.
I'll see you again soon.
