Hello and welcome to this Yoga Nidra session entitled 61 points of healing blue light.

My name is Wendy and I'll be your guide for this session.

Before we begin,

I would invite you to gather all of the props that you may want to use for the session today,

Be that pillows,

Blankets,

A bolster if you have a bolster,

Perhaps an eye pillow to put over your eyes,

Whatever you deem necessary.

Go ahead and pause this audio at this time and go ahead and gather everything at this time.

And once you come back,

Just stand in here and get comfortable.

You may either lie on the floor on your mat or you could even lie on your bed if you would like.

Alternatively,

You can also sit in a chair.

That works just fine too.

So making sure that you're comfortable,

That perhaps you have a pillow behind your head,

Maybe a bolster or a pillow under your knees to prop your knees up.

Making sure that you are comfortable and specifically making sure that you are either covered with a blanket or that you have one nearby because it is customary for our body temperature to drop during a Yoga Nidra session.

So I just want to make sure that you are as comfortable as possible and that you are ready for that in case you do become chilly.

So you've got one nearby.

So as you know,

Yoga Nidra is guided sleep meditation.

It's deep rest.

It helps to quiet our minds,

Let go of our thoughts.

Many of us have a difficult time doing that.

So all you need to do right now is to lie here or sit here if you're seated in a chair and just listen to my voice.

The stillness of the body gradually translates into stillness of the mind.

And so that in turn helps us to internalize the process.

And remember that like anything else,

A repetition of a Yoga Nidra practice can help us to rewire our brains.

The more we do and practice Yoga Nidra,

The more we're able to change those neural pathways in our brains.

So I would invite you at this time to go ahead and shift so you are 5 to 10% more comfortable.

So whether you want to just wiggle a little bit,

Making sure that perhaps your shoulders,

Your shoulder blades are tucked underneath.

Make sure that your feet are,

Legs are ideally about a foot or so apart.

But again,

It's really up to you.

It's so individual.

Maybe having your arms next to you and either palms facing up or palms facing down,

Totally up to you.

So maybe shrugging the tailbone down just slightly to lengthen that lower back.

Maybe tucking your chin in order to elongate the back of the neck.

Go ahead and soften the jaw and soften or close your eyes at this time.

And I would remind you here at this time that if you do feel some discomfort at any time in your low back,

Go ahead and try to adjust to make sure that you've got less pressure on your back.

And that would mean tenting your knees,

Subduing your soles of your feet to flat surface and then resting those knees together.

That should help to alleviate any discomfort in your low back.

And also remember at any time if you should choose to do so,

You can also roll over onto your side.

So whatever the reason you came to this practice today,

Whether it be fear,

Insomnia,

Pain,

Grief,

Perhaps even curiosity,

Whatever the reason,

Feel yourself grounded and feel yourself safe and secure,

Held by this space and held by me.

Now don't worry if you don't hear everything I say during this session.

It's absolutely natural to flow in and out of conscious awareness during the yoga nidra practice.

And if you happen to fall asleep,

Don't worry about that either.

That primarily means that you need your sleep.

You're tired.

Remember that the deepest part of you,

Your higher self,

Your true inner self is always listening.

So in this session today,

I'll be guiding you through the body by naming specific body parts.

And all you have to do is follow along.

You don't need to move that part of the body or even try to relax it.

Just let your awareness gently rest at each place that I name.

And then during another part of the session today,

I'll be describing various settings and images.

And once again,

All you need to do is listen to my voice and just follow along.

And now the practice of yoga nidra.

At this time,

Focus on quieting your mind.

Focus on being here in this present moment.

Letting go of all thoughts and letting go of all worry and letting go of any tension that you might be feeling.

Trusting and letting go.

Notice your breathing and become aware of the steady flow of your breath.

Seeing how your breath is moving in and out of your body without any effort.

With your next breath,

Take a deep inhale.

And then exhaling nice and deep.

Again,

Inhale deeply and then exhale nice and slow,

Letting it all go.

Continue to just observe your breath.

Notice that with every inhale,

The belly rises and creates fullness in the lungs.

And with every exhale,

The belly drops and your body sinks deeper and deeper into the mat,

Into the surface that you were laying on.

Sending deeper and deeper with every exhale.

Letting go and sinking into deep relaxation.

With every breath,

Settling into Mother Earth.

And with every breath,

Letting go of tension.

And with every breath,

Feeling a deep sense of peace and contentment.

And next we'll set a Sen Kulpa for your practice today.

Sometimes this word Sen Kulpa is translated as an intention.

And sometimes it's referred to as your heart's desire or your heart's deepest longing.

Each of us holds a deep longing deep inside of us.

It may be a mission,

Perhaps a dream or a wish.

Essentially it's anything that gives life purpose and meaning to us.

This word Sen Kulpa,

It comes from the word San,

Which means truth,

And Kulpa,

Which means deep vow.

So with a Sen Kulpa,

You're aligning yourself with your deepest truth.

You're vowing to live your truth.

So let whatever pops up here for you just pop up.

It may or it may not even be clear at this time.

But if there's even just an essence of something,

Let that float up right now.

You might find it helpful to use a statement using the present positive.

For example,

I am now blank and you get to fill in the blank.

For example,

I am now healed or I am now living my truth.

So I would invite you at this time to take a moment to create some space for this deep longing or your heart's desire.

And go ahead and state this heart's desire silently to yourself three times,

Three times to anchor it.

And next we'll begin to tune into the senses.

Bring attention to your senses and allow each perception to just come to you.

You don't have to go looking for them.

They'll just come to you.

Let's first begin by tuning in to the sense of touch.

Notice the way your body is resting on the surface.

The connection of the back of your head.

The connection of the back of your neck and shoulders.

The connection of your spine,

Your hips and the backs of your legs.

Feel that connection and feel Mother Earth supporting you.

And now tune in to the weight of your clothing,

That sense of touch.

And now begin to tune in to the sense of sound.

Let your eyes and your ears take in the sounds outside of this room.

And then begin to take in the sounds inside the room.

There's no need to name them or identify them.

Just let the sounds,

The vibrations come in.

Now create a sense of heaviness in your body.

A deep sense of heaviness.

A sense of heaviness like you're melting into the surface of the earth.

More like your body creating an imprint on a sandy beach.

And now create a sense of lightness like you're floating in a cloud that's hovering right above the earth.

And now again,

A sense of heaviness.

Deep heaviness.

And now imagine a light coming from your forehead.

A beam of beautiful,

Pure light coming right from the third eye.

And as you breathe in,

Imagine that light expanding into a beautiful,

Glowing cloud all around you.

And then as you exhale,

Bring that light back into the center of your forehead.

And envision this with this expanding and contracting sense of your breath.

And of that light expanding and contracting.

With each exhale,

Begin counting your breaths silently to yourself backwards.

And let's begin counting backwards until you get all the way back to one.

I'll help you get started.

So inhale,

10.

Exhale,

10.

Inhale,

9.

Exhale,

9.

Inhale,

8.

Exhale,

8.

And then you continue all the way down until you get to one.

I'll leave you here to count.

And you may let go of your counting wherever you are.

Let's now turn your awareness to the third eye.

That space that's between the eyebrows.

It's the space that is the seat of intuition and inspiration.

It's also called the well of wisdom.

So in the mind's eye,

See a basket filled with warm,

Glowing,

Five-pointed blue stars.

Reach into that basket and take one small,

Five-pointed blue star.

Place that blue star on the point between the eyebrows and feel its warmth.

And reach again into the basket and take another tiny,

Five-pointed blue star.

Place that blue star on the pulsing hollow of the throat and pause.

And again,

Reach into the basket and retrieve a handful of shimmering,

Five-pointed blue stars.

And gently place one on the right shoulder joint,

The right elbow joint,

And on the middle of the right wrist.

Retrieve five tiny,

Five-pointed blue stars from the basket.

And place one each on the tip of the right thumb,

Tip of the right index finger,

Tip of the right middle finger,

Tip of the right ring finger,

And on the tip of the right pinky finger.

And sense your five right fingers alive and glowing with warm,

Blue light,

Shining inside and shining outside in all directions.

And once again into the basket and place glowing blue stars on the middle of the right wrist,

The elbow joint,

Right shoulder joint,

And the hollow of the throat,

And pause here.

And then we'll move to the left side.

So once again,

Reaching into the basket,

Retrieve a handful of shimmering,

Five-pointed blue stars,

And gently place one on the left shoulder joint,

Left elbow joint,

And on the middle of the left wrist.

Reach into the basket and retrieve five tiny,

Five-pointed blue stars and place one each on the tip of the left thumb,

Tip of the left index finger,

Tip of the left middle finger,

Tip of the left ring finger,

And on the tip of the pinky finger.

Sense your fingers alive and glowing with warm,

Blue light,

Shining inside and shining outside in all directions.

Reach once again into the basket and retrieve glowing blue stars and place them on the middle of the left wrist,

Left elbow joint,

Left shoulder joint,

And in the hollow of the throat,

And pause again.

Once again,

Reach into the basket and retrieve small,

Five-pointed blue star and place it on the point between the eyebrows.

Feel its warmth.

And then place another tiny,

Five-pointed blue star in the pulsing hollow of the throat,

And pause.

Reach into the basket once again and retrieve a handful of five-pointed blue stars and place one each on the heart center,

Left chest,

Heart center,

Right chest,

And heart center.

Feel the warmth throughout the torso,

On the right side,

On the left side,

And in the middle,

Shining inside and shining outside in all directions.

Reach into the basket again and place a glowing,

Warm,

Five-pointed blue star on the right hip joint,

Right knee joint,

And right ankle joint.

Retrieve five tiny blue stars and place one each on the right big toe,

Tip of the second toe,

Tip of the third toe,

Tip of the fourth toe,

And tip of the little toe.

Become aware of your right toes alive and glowing with warm,

Blue light,

Shining inside and shining outside in all directions.

Once again,

Reach into the basket and retrieve a handful of shimmering,

Five-pointed blue stars and place one each on the right ankle joint,

Right knee joint,

Right hip joint,

And two inches below the navel center,

And pause here.

Reach into the basket once again,

Retrieve a handful of glowing,

Warm,

Five-pointed blue stars and place one each on the left hip joint,

Left knee joint,

And the left ankle joint.

Retrieve five more tiny blue stars and place one each on the left big toe,

Tip of the second toe,

Tip of the third toe,

Tip of the fourth toe,

And on the tip of the little toe.

Become aware of your left toes alive and glowing with warm,

Blue light,

Shining inside and shining outside in all directions.

Reach again into the basket and retrieve five-pointed blue stars,

Placing one each on the left ankle joint,

Left knee joint,

Left hip joint,

And two inches below the navel center,

And pause.

Again,

Go ahead,

Reach into the basket and retrieve warm,

Five-pointed blue stars and place one each on the solar plexus,

Heart center,

Hollow of the throat,

And on the third eye between the eyebrows.

You cannot do yoga neutral wrong.

I will now describe various settings and images.

If you can,

Try to develop a vision of them.

Try to develop a vision of them on all levels,

Meaning feeling,

Awareness,

Emotion,

And imagination.

Just do the best that you can.

Let's begin.

Burning candle,

Burning candle,

Burning candle.

Endless desert,

Endless desert,

Endless desert.

Egyptian pyramid,

Egyptian pyramid,

Egyptian pyramid.

Torrential rain,

Torrential rain,

Torrential rain.

Snow-capped mountain,

Snow-capped mountain,

Snow-capped mountain.

Greek temple at sunrise,

Greek temple at sunrise,

Greek temple at sunrise.

Birds flying across a sunset,

Birds flying across a sunset,

Birds flying across a sunset.

Red clouds drifting,

Red clouds drifting,

Red clouds drifting.

Across above a church,

Across above a church,

Across above a church.

Stars at night,

Stars at night,

Stars at night.

Full moon,

Full moon,

Full moon.

Smiling Buddha,

Smiling Buddha,

Smiling Buddha.

Wind from the sea,

Wind from the sea,

Wind from the sea.

Waves breaking on a deserted beach,

Waves breaking on a deserted beach,

Waves breaking on a deserted beach.

The restless see,

Eternal restless see,

Eternal restless see.

Waves breaking on a deserted beach.

And now rest until you hear the sound of my voice again.

The sound of my voice again.

The sound of my voice again.

The sound of my voice again.

And as you hear the sound of my voice again,

Take a moment now to recall the Zen Kaka that you made at the beginning of the practice.

Repeat your Zen Kopa,

Your heart's desire.

Repeat it once again three times silently to yourself with full awareness and with feeling.

And now begin to become aware of the body as healing blue light shining inside and shining outside in all directions.

The entire body warm and glowing.

Basking in the healing blue light.

And now I invite you to breathe in from the abdomen to the heart.

And then breathe out from the heart to the abdomen.

Breathe in from the heart to the throat.

And breathe out from the throat back to the heart.

Breathe in from the heart to the third eye.

And then breathe out from the third eye back to the heart.

Breathe in from the third eye to the crown.

And then breathe out from the crown to the third eye.

And then the next time you breathe in,

Envision and open the crown chakra at the top of the head.

And mingle the white light above the crown with the blue light of the sixty one five pointed blue stars.

Sensing yourself now as whole and as a complete being.

Always were,

Are,

And forever will be.

Still,

Alive,

Awake,

And aware.

And now with the energy of the healing light within and without,

I invite you to roll over and rest on your right side.

Perhaps cradling your head with your hands,

Pausing here.

Welcome back from your yoga nidra.

If you choose,

You may stay lying here on your side for as long as you'd like for the remainder of the practice.

If you would like,

You may also press yourself up using your hands to safely bring yourself up to a seated position.

If you choose to come to a seated position,

Bring your hands to heart center,

Thumbs connecting with your heart,

Bowing your head,

Chin to your chest,

And your eyes softened.

And then bringing our thumbs to our third eye located at the center of our forehead.

In closing,

I will offer and share this.

May you be happy,

May you be healthy,

And may you shine your light brightly as a beacon of hope.

Namaste.

This yoga nidra session has now ended.

May your day continue in peace and tranquility.

It is always my pleasure and my honor.

Have a wonderful day.

The blue stars add a unique touch to yoga nidra. I’ve listened to this three times now and it’s reduced pain or eliminated pain yet I’ve never stayed awake to the end! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
