For this meditation today,
We'll be doing a simple body awareness.
I'll invite you to find a comfortable seated position whether it's sitting on the floor,
Sitting on a chair.
See if you can keep the body upright.
Sitting with a nice and tall spine.
Rooting from the sit bones all the way to the ground.
And reaching,
Lengthening from the top crown of your head.
Noticing the body.
And the space you are in.
And as you breathe here,
Just notice without judgment.
Without beating yourself up.
Without thinking you did something wrong.
Worrying about what to write.
Everything and anything is welcomed here.
And see if you can bring your awareness to the body We'll start by noticing the ground.
So wherever you're sitting,
Notice the surface Notice how you're supported.
Notice that contact Now moving.
To the front of the body.
Sitting tall with an open chest.
Lengthening up through the crown of the head.
If you're sitting on a chair,
Maybe noticing the feet on the floor.
Now bring your awareness to the face,
The facial muscles.
So often it's very easy to tighten or tense these areas.
Bringing awareness to the facial muscles allows us to look at them consciously and to notice the gripping and the clenching that might happen without our awareness.
And as we notice the facial muscles.
Notice what happened.
Do the muscles gradually relax?
Creating more space.
Or do they stay tight and tense?
And remember,
We're not trying to force anything to happen.
We're not forcing relaxation.
We're just noticing.
What is currently happening?
And it's okay if it's not happening for you today.
Now notice the shoulders.
Are they creeping up towards the ears?
Are they heavy?
Or they relax.
And calm and spacious.
Now looking at the arms.
The upper arm,
The forearm,
The elbow and the wrist,
The fingertips.
Now paying attention to the rise and the fall of the belly as you breathe.
Noticing how the breath expands the ribcage.
And on the exhale,
Notice how it softens the body.
Now drawing awareness to your hips the thighs,
The calves,
The shin bone.
And seeing if there's anything present here.
Remember that there isn't a right or a wrong.
There's just present awareness.
And instead of being hard on ourselves or forcing an outcome.
See if we can look at these areas with curiosity.
Non-judgment,
No forcing,
But simply allowing it to be there.
We'll take a few more rounds of breath.
And as you take these rounds of breath,
Can we become more conscious?
On what is happening within us.
Within our minds,
Within our bodies.
And every time we lose contact with this feeling.
Every time we move through our days on autopilot.
Bring that conscious awareness come back to the body come back to the breath It's already in us.
And we just need to bring our attention,
Our focus,
And our conscious awareness to it.
Remember that it's all already in you.
Sometimes we just need to see it Take one more deep,
Full and nourishing breath in.
And as you exhale,
Sigh everything out.
Letting go of anything that may not be necessary for you to hold on to.
Soaking in this feeling for a couple more seconds When the time feels right,
I'll invite you to wiggle the fingertips and the toes.
Maybe do a gentle stretch to wake up the body.
At your own pace,
You can gently open the eyes and come back to the space.
Thank you so much for listening to this meditation and I hope you have a great day ahead.
