For this meditation today,
We'll be doing a gentle breathing exercise.
I'll invite you to start in a comfortable seated position.
Whatever that looks like for you.
And just starting to find your center.
Notice the weight.
Is shifting forwards or backwards.
And starting to orient your body in space.
Finding the centre.
Allowing the eyes to gently close where you can lower the gaze.
Tearing inwards into the body,
The breath and the mind.
We'll start by just finding your breath.
So just bringing your attention.
Noticing the pace,
The speed.
The quality of the breath.
Noticing the parts of the body that the breath passes through.
Whether it goes down towards the belly and the chest.
And the head.
For the breathing exercise today,
We'll inhale for four counts.
Hold for 2 and exhale for 6.
At any point if it gets too much or if the pace is not right for you,
Feel free to adjust accordingly.
Take one round of breath.
Just to prep a deep inhale in.
And a full axial out.
We'll breathe in for 1,
2,
3,
4,
Hold for 1,
2,
Exhale for 6,
5,
4,
3,
2 and 1.
Inhale for 1 2 3 4.
Hold for 1 2.
Exhale for 6 5 4 3 2 and 1 Continue like this.
At your own pace.
At your own speed.
Remember you can always adjust as you see fit.
Remember there's no rush here.
As you go through the exercise,
Notice the quality of your breath.
How is the breath responding to the exercise,
To the inhales,
To the hold,
To the exhales?
If the mind starts to drift away from the breath.
Gently and gracefully bring it back to these counts.
Now wherever you are.
Do one more cycle.
And when you're ready,
Find normal breathing.
Coming back to a natural rhythm.
Gently in and out through the nose.
And in this state.
Notice how the body,
The breath and the mind feel.
Notice how you're feeling.
At this moment.
See how this differs from when you first started.
Do you notice any differences,
Any changes?
When you are ready,
Start to bring movement into the body,
Maybe in the fingertips and the toes.
Or wherever you wish to move at this moment.
And when it feels right to do so,
You can gently open the eyes.
Returning to the space around you.
Thank you for listening to this meditation today.
I will leave you here and I wish you a great day ahead.
