This is a great meditation to experience around the summer solstice and during the spring and summer months when we enjoy the most light of the year.
The summer solstice marks the longest day of the year and a celebration of the most light.
So in this meditation let's connect to the light that surrounds us and is within us to allow deep healing personally and collectively.
Allow yourself to get comfortable either sitting or lying down.
Close your eyes,
Take a few deep breaths and just soften and relax.
Take time to soften and relax through your whole body.
Softening through the head and face,
The jaw,
The neck and shoulders,
The arms and hands and fingers,
The torso,
The chest,
Shoulder blades,
Abdominals and back.
Soften into the diaphragm area,
Around the stomach.
Let that breath move deeper.
Soften the pelvis and hips and legs,
The feet and toes.
Just breathe gently and deeply.
Become aware of the light that surrounds you and the light energy that is within you.
The light can be any colour,
It is often imagined as white like bright sunlight but you can visualise any colour that works for you,
Red,
Orange,
Yellow,
Green,
Blue,
Purple,
Pink.
The light may stay the same colour for you during this meditation or it may change from colour to colour or become a blend of many colours.
See the light now in your mind's eye,
This light is all around us,
We are bathed in its brightness,
Energy and warmth.
Connect to the light,
Feel at one with the light and start to bring the light inside you.
Let the light stream in through the crown of your head and you can breathe the light into your body or you can feel that you are drawing the light into your body through the pores of the skin.
The light,
This healing energy flows into your body,
Direct this flow to the crown of your head and then down to your third eye centre,
That space between and behind the eyebrow centre.
Feel your head with this light,
Flow the light down into your throat and down into your shoulders and arms and into your hands and fingers,
Flow that light into your heart,
Fill your chest with the light,
Flow the light into your stomach,
Shining brightly at your solar plexus just above your navel.
Flow the light into your lower abdomen and pelvis,
Flow the light down your spine to the tailbone and let the light shine brightly here.
The healing light flows down through your legs,
Your knees,
Your ankles and into your feet and toes.
Feel the warmth of this healing energy now as it travels all through your body.
Now sense the one part of your body where the light can shine the brightest and imagine the light there.
Perhaps it's your eyebrow centre or your heart space or the solar plexus or any other part of the body where you feel this light shining the brightest.
Maybe there are a few parts,
Wherever it is see it shine.
Now send the light out from that part of your body where it shines the brightest.
Send it out a few inches from your body.
Now extend your light out from your body just a little more.
And then a little more until your light extends a few feet from your body.
Now if you like you can extend your light out to others,
To all those doing this meditation right now.
When our lights meet we are connected to a universal light.
In the words of Rumi,
The candles are many but the light is one.
Take a few minutes now to sense this energy and this connectedness.
Now take from this light the energy that you need.
Know that there is plenty for all,
For the source of this light is endless and ever abundant.
Take a moment to experience the abundance of this light source.
Know that as you receive this light you also give it.
It's the beautiful circle of life to give and to receive a continuous flow of light and love.
Take a moment to give thanks to the light and its source and to those you have shared this light with.
And now gently bring the awareness back into the body.
Start by deepening the breath.
And give a wriggle to the fingers and to the toes.
You'd like to move and stretch your body if you can.
If you're lying down you may wish to roll onto one side and take a few moments here before you come back up to sitting.
Bring you a light filled day.
Namaste.
Namaste.
